For dog lovers out there, here are some homemade dog shampoo recipes you can make. By making your own dog shampoo you’ll be saving money and you won’t have to worry about harsh chemicals irritating your pup’s skin! On top of that, your dog is going to smell amazing after using any one of these shampoo recipes!

1. Homemade Oatmeal Dog Shampoo
Homemade shampoo with oatmeal in it is great for your dogs’ skin and fur. It helps relieve itchiness, it helps to moisturize, and it will leave their coat looking beautiful! Add a few drops of pure Lavender oil or Copaiba for extra soothing.
Supplies Needed:
- 1 cup Quick Oats
- 2 teaspoons Vitamin E
- 2 tablespoons Unscented Castile Liquid Soap
- 2 Cups Warm Water
2. DIY Natural Dog Shampoo
This natural DIY dog shampoo is super easy to make and will leave your fur babies coat nice and soft and smelling great!
Supplies Needed:
- 1 cup of natural liquid dish-washing soap
- 1 cup of organic apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup of warm water
- 2 ounces of glycerine
- An empty container
3. Natural Dog Shampoo – Flea Removal
If you’ve got a flea problem and you’re looking for a more natural solution, this homemade dog shampoo is perfect. It really works too! The only problem with this shampoo is it may leave a strong vinegar scent, but you can add about 10 drops of essential oil to the recipe to combat it. Cedarwood, Arborvitae, Lemongrass, Lavender, Rosemary, and/or TerraShield would be great options for this recipe.
Supplies Needed:
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/4 cup of distilled white vinegar
- 1/4 cup of Dawn dish liquid
- Soap dispenser with pump
4. Dog Shampoo for Dry Skin (without glycerin)
Try out this homemade dog shampoo if your pup has dry skin! Lavender, Roman Chamomile, and/or Clary Sage would be great oil choices here!
Supplies Needed:
- 1/2 cup warm distilled water
- 1/2 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
- 20-25 drops Essential oil (optional)
- 3 tbsp pure castile soap (peppermint scent preferable)
- 1tbsp organic apple cider vinegar

Hi, how long would the shelf life be on theses recipes ? Do they have an expiration date?
I wash my Pug’s muzzle and nose and eye area with Spa Face Wash, which also works great for our ShiChi and his tear stains. It doesn’t bother their eyes at all so you can leave it on while you wash the rest of the doggie.
