10 Simple DIY Kimonos Anyone Can Make

Kimonos are perfect cover-ups for summer because they are made out of light and breezy fabrics. They’re also quite easy to create as there’s really not a lot to them. As you’ll see from the DIY kimono ideas below, some of them don’t even require a stitch of sewing!

How cool is this!? A kimono made from an oversized t-shirt (which you could get for $2 at a thrift store). Such a fun project and you can add any type of trim you like to it to suit your style.

• Oversize t-shirt
• 2 yards of fabric trim (any kind will do; tassel, feather, ruffles, whatever suits your style)
• Permanent fabric glue
• Fray stopper (if your trim will fray like mine)
• Fabric pencil/marker/chalk
