Fourth of July Board
Another fun holiday to decorate for is just around the corner, and I don’t have much 4th of July Decor. Â A friend of mine found the idea for these super cute Fourth of July decorations, and was kind enough to gather all the materials for anyone that was interested in making one. Â I am always up for new decor and cute crafts, so I jumped at making one of these. Â It was super simple, only $14, and now I have another fun decoration for the 4th of July.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
rectangular board or piece of wood cut to the size you want
small piece of sandpaper to clean up the edges of your board (optional)
white or off white paint
red paint
painters tape
4×4 or 6×6 wood square, depending on the overall size of your board
piece of festive scrap book paper
small wooden star
hot glue or other heavy duty craft glue
Utility or exacto knife
DIRECTIONS:
Paint your board white and let dry. Â When dry, start taping off your board.
Place tape on a diagonal.
Separate each strip with a small piece of tape to make equal spacing. Â Be sure to press the tape all the way down so it won’t bleed as much.
Now lay your tape on the opposite diagonal. Â Now is the tricky part.
Cut out the tape with your knife, in order to make the chevron pattern.
Paint your board red. Â While the red paint is drying, glue your decorative paper to your small wooden square.
Paint your star white. Â When it is dry, glue it on top of the paper.
After red paint dries completely, remove the tape from the board.
Glue small square onto board in top left corner.
You may have some bleeding, and might need to touch it up a bit.
You can display your flag on a wall, or on a picture stand. Â Happy crafting!!
