DIY Christmas Countdown {Neighbor Gift}
This is a fun gift to give a family that has children. My kids LOVE to count down to things, especially to Christmas! I saw this idea on Pinterest months ago and tweaked it to make it quicker and easier to make.

The supply list for these is small and you can make a lot of them in a short time. Just what I like for gifts to give to neighbors and friends.
-
Wooden Plaques {I found mine at Hobby Lobby, for $2, look for them on sale and you can get them for cheaper, Amazon has some here.}
-
Ribbon {These are fun}
-
Red Spray Paint
-
Chalkboard Vinyl and vinyl phrase {download the Silhouette file here}
First spray paint your plaques. I sprayed mine red. It was raining the day I made them so I put them in a box and sprayed them on my back patio. They took a while to dry because of the humidity!
I designed the vinyl cut outs in my studio software. {I think Christmas is the BEST time to ask for a Silhouette Cameo or a Silhouette Portrait.} I got my chalk board vinyl from Hobby Lobby. You can find it at Amazon also. I used white vinyl for the words. I cut the present and Christmas Tree out with the chalkboard vinyl. If you don’t have a {lovely} silhouette and don’t have a friend that can cut it out for you, you can use a paint pen to write your saying. Sharpie makes a really cool one. For the chalkboard part, you can just draw the image on the back of the vinyl and cut it out with scissors.
I used transfer tape to get the project lined up and placed it on the plaque.
I can never find my scraper! My pampered chef pan scraper works just the same! Once you place the vinyl down rub over the transfer tape to make sure the vinyl is adhered to the plaque.
And peel off your transfer tape. I always seems to go come off easiest when I peel it an an angle.
I used my staple gun to staple the ribbon to the back of the plaque so we could hang it up.
I used my Bistro Markers to write on the chalkboard tree. I love how the bistro markers look and you can just wipe them off with a damp paper towel.
These would be so easy to make for friends and neighbors. I can’t decide which one I want to keep for myself, the Christmas tree one or the present!

Hi, would you mind sharing where you buy your transfer tape from? Mine has lines and is not very clear and hard to use
Yes! I got it from hhsignsupply.com. It is the GT medium tac clear transfer tape. I bought a huge roll of it and love it. I often reuse it multiple times too!
