Air Fryer Apple Cobbler
Air Fryer Apple Cobbler
Apple cobbler in the air fryer? Yes. please! Enjoy this indulgent air fryer apple cobbler dessert recipe this fall with whip cream or vanilla ice cream. It is an easy and delicious air fryer recipe that you don’t want to miss out on while apple season is in full bloom!
What You Need to Make Apple Cobbler
This recipe is super simple. You need only 8 ingredients, and I bet you already have them all on-hand. It’s almost too good to be true, dangerously too good. For this recipe, you need:
- 4 tart apples, peeled, cored and cut into chunks
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed or bottled)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup all-purpose or whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, softened to room temperature
What type of apples should I use?
For the apples, I used 2 Granny Smith and 2 Honeycrisp. Firm, tart and sweet apples work the best for apple crisp. Feel free to experiment with different varieties.
How to Make Apple Cobbler in the Air Fryer
Once you have your apples picked out and ingredients ready to go, toss the apples with the lemon juice and vanilla in a medium bowl. Next, place the apples into a cake barrel accessory pan, spreading evenly to the edges. The apples can overlap.
If you don’t have a cake barrel pan, you can get one off of Amazon. Just make sure that you get the right size for your air fryer. My 5.8 qt Cosori basket is 9×9 inch in size.

Next, in a medium bowl stir together the flour, oats, brown sugar and cinnamon. Using a pastry blender, two forks or a whisk, mix the butter into dry ingredients until lumpy and coarsely mixed. Most of the dry ingredients should be incorporated with the butter to form large crumbs.
Then, sprinkle the mixture evenly over the apples.
How long to cook apple cobbler in the air fryer?
When you are ready to cook your delicious apple cobbler,
- Cover with foil and bake in an air fryer at 340 degrees for 20 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for another 8 minutes to create a crispy top layer.
If you want softer apples
The apples remain somewhat firm in the air fryer, yet soft enough to enjoy. So if you like a slightly softer apple base, then cook for an additional 5 minutes prior to removing the foil.
