Toys R Us easter candy was 1.99 for all bags up to 13 oz. I priced matched at Wal Mart while there, and used the 2 off 3 bags.

    Alexis says:

Do you know if you can get rainchecks for BOGO sales??

  3. 3
    Courtenay says:

When buying something BOGO (the McCormick Spices for example) can you use 2 coupons, or just one for the 1st product?

  4. 4
    Courtenay says:

Also, does the free item (with BOGO free) count towards the catalina? Say, if I buy 2 McCormick spices and get two free will that qualify for the “buy 3 of more” catalina?

  5. 5
    Cathy says:

Alexis – You can get rainchecks for BOGO sales… but remember, that you can’t get them for catalinas. So make sure you purchase before the catalina end date.

Courtenay – YES, you can use a coupon for each item when doing a BOGO. Purchase two, get two free, will qualify for the “3 or more” to trigger the catalina. I didn’t clarify that very well, and I’ll update the post. Thanks! :)

Is it just the Post Pebbles on sale for 1.99 or does this price include the Post Selects? I don’t want the Pebbles but it it includes the Selects I will buy more coupons. Thanks

    Post Pebbles Cereal $1.99
    Purchase 6
    USE: (3) $1/2 coupons
    Double (wait until Sunday)
    OOP: $5.94 after doubles
RECEIVE: up to $4.00 catalina if you purchase 5 or more (a new catalina is running on Pebbles and Selects only through 4/ )

    Alexis says:

So, I remember Albertsons not allowing 2 coupons in a BOGO sale, like when the whole buy one pie get one pie and 2 ice creams deal went on, they were allowing one for the pie and one for ice cream but not 2 for each. Right?

      Monica says:

      Alexis:
I remember that promo too. Every store had a different policy. They seemed to be making the rules up as they went. So YMMV, but you should be allowed to use a coupon on each item.

    Audrey says:

If there are doublers coming soon, where are they found?

  9. 9
    Colleen says:

I have seen a crude visual of the doublers that will be in Sundays ad (3/28). A slick sheet like we often see on Sundays. They will be in the Sunday paper Alexis and as always you can request one at Customer Service when you visit the store.

    Meaghan says:

Doesn’t the coupon for the flour say Do Not Double?

I’m lovin’ my Post stash! I made gluten-free rice krispie treats last night for my little girl using the Cupcake Pebbles, and they turned out great! (regular Rice Krispies have gluten). It was a nice change to the ultra-sweet Fruity Pebbles and super-chocolately Cocoa Pebbles we usually use for this treat. She was thrilled, and it was fun to have a treat that she can eat for FHE! I also got a coupon in my email for 10% off online orders at glutenfreemall.com:

    The Gluten-Free Mall
Now carrying: Schar, Kinnikinnick, Heinz-BiAglut, Udi’s, Food For Life and over 100 other manuacturers’ items…see our 219 New March Specials.
–>10% Off Coupon: use code: celiacdotcom (Expires 3/31/2010 – product total excluding shipping & taxes. Not valid with other specials. 1 use per customer).
    Visit us at: http://www.GlutenFreeMall.com

Gluten free foods are expensive, but this site has some good deals, and with the coupon, it helps! Just thought I would pass it on. I don’t know if you have other people looking for food allergy foods, but this is a good site to find those hard-to-find items.

I’m pretty eager to grab some deals before the doublers come out on Sunday. Here is one I will be doing.

    Tampax Tampons $5.49/$4.12
    Purchase 4
    USE: (4) $2/1 coupons
USE: $10 Cat from Chill Promo
    OOP: $3.96
    RECEIVE: $5.00 OYNO

Then on Sunday, I will do these two deals.

    Post Pebbles Cereal $1.99
    Purchase 6
    USE: (3) $1/2 coupons
    Double (wait until Sunday)
    OOP: $5.94 after doubles
    RECEIVE: up to $4.00 catalina

    and

Buy 1 Pampers Big Pack $18.99
    USE: $2/1 from 3/7 PG
Buy 1 Philadelphia Cream Cheese $1.29
    TOTAL: $20.28
    - $2.00 Pampers Coupon
    - $5.00 Kraft Promo
    - $4.00 Pebbles Cat
    TOTAL OOP: $9.28
    RECEIVE: $5.00 catalina

This is just what I will be doing. For all three, my total OOP will be $19.18 and I will have a $5 Cat left over for next time!

I don’t think you can use chill cats on things other than frozen foods. That’s what other websites are reporting. You may want to rethink your strategy

        Ali Smith says:

Definitely not true! At least that has never been my experience with ANY catalinas. They are good for anything in the store (with a few exceptions)! I used my last chill promo cat to buy produce and milk.

        • 12.1.1.1
          Rachele says:

I’m with Ali on this one. I used my chill cats on cereal and yogurt. They’re basically like cash in your pocket because they are a coupon that can be used on anything and are not linked to any particular item(s).

    DOUBLE 3 of them

    me and my gang says:

I was at my local (Twin Falls) Fred Meyer yesterday and saw them discounting boxes of Betty Crocker Potatoes. I didn’t think anything about it because I do not use them. That is until… I saw this Catalina and I thought I would pass it along. Could be a money maker if combined with coupons and this current
    Catalina: 3/22-4/18
    Buy one get .50 cents
    Buy two get $1.50
    Buy three get $3.00

    • 17.1
      Ginger says:

I’d be wary of this. I tried buying some marked down Lunchables awhile back when cats were printing for them, and found out that markdowns won’t trigger cats because the markdown sticker has a different barcode than the actual product.

  18. 18
    Thomas says:

I know see that some store’s are starting to do triple doublers up to coupon face value of 99 cents when tripled that’s $3.00, I think I know why some are doing this The king of price rollbacks is set to discount up to 10,000 items beginning April 1.
Last week, Wal-Mart confirmed a report that it would slash prices on grocery items in hopes of boosting traffic at its stores.
Since I started doing couponing I don’t shop at Wal-Mart that much now days.
I hope Albertsons starts doing some triplers and would like to see Fred Meyer start doing some doublers; I know that Kroger’s will double up to 50 cents not sure why Fred Meyers won’t do this as well.

  19. 19
    Cathy B says:

Just a heads up regarding BOGO deals. The 5 & O Albertsons has twice lately not let me use a coupon on the second “free” item. However I know that other Albies stores have let me use a coupon per item in the past (and technically I think this is correct). So it will definitely vary from store to store, just so you are aware and prepared for this scenario. Just remember to be polite and not argue!

  20. 20
    Sophie says:

I purchased some cream cheese coupons on ebay as well, cant locate them right now but I am thinking the $1/2 cant be doubled.

  21. 21
    Jen says:

Has anyone done the dreyers deal (buying 3 and getting 6 for free) as well as one other item and still received a catalina? I read a comment on another blog where someone had tried this and hadn’t received a catalina. Customer service told her it didn’t work because the free ice cream didn’t count towards the 10 items needed to receive the chill catalina. I would love to do this if it is working!

    • 21.1
      Alexis says:

I bought 2 ice creams, got 4 three and bought 4 other items and it worked fine for me!

      Amy says:

Yesterday I purchased 3 Dreyers (BOG2), and 7 Ore-Ida hash browns and the catalina printed. This was at the Stadium store in Caldwell.

        Monica says:

        I bought
        2 ice creams
        4 ice cream free
        4 Ore Ida Potatoes

        Printed perfectly!

        Cathy bought
        2 ice cream
        4 free
        4 dreyers fruit bars

        Printed Perfectly!

Unfortuantly since the deals change every week customer service does not always understand how the promos work. Are you sure your 10th item was part of the deal? If it was you can always call the catalina co to get your catalina: call the Catalina company @ 888-322-3814. Have your receipt in front of you because they will need some key info from it. They will be able to see if the machine was working and if you bought the right products. It does tend to take a few minutes for the call, and then you have to wait to get the RR, which takes 6 – 8 weeks. May be less of a hassle than going back to the store, and worth it if you want that cat!

  22. 22

    Your “blockquote” looks great!!

  23. 23
    Amanda says:

Melissa, you can use your cats from the chill promo on anything. Safeway is the store you are talking about. You can only use their cats from their frozen promo on frozen stuff.

  24. 24
    Tricia says:

Hey Cathy and Monica – I was trying to do a post on the HOTNESS of the Kellogg’s promo with the doublers that start Sunday and the overlapping milk promo. It looks like I can’t post now with the new site.

Anyways, there are some awesome scenarios with this whether you have coupons and doublers or not. BECAUSE, when you buy your milk with the free coupons, it takes off the full value of the coupon ($4.19). So you buy the cheap milk and put the overage towards more cereal! So, I have worked out scenarios on just about every way to do this, but wasn’t sure if you are interested in doing a post on it as well. Think – 7 boxes of Kelloggs and 3 gallons of milk for 83 cents plus tax, remembering that tax will be on all the coupons, except the double coupons. Also remember that your first transaction you will pay more out of pocket because you won’t have the milk coupons to use – so just buy the seven boxes of cereal with 3 MCs and 3 doublers (don’t buy milk the first transaction).

    1ST TRANSACTION
    buy 7 boxes @ $1.79 = 12.53
    use 3 MCs and 3 doubler = -$6
    Pay $6.53 OOP plus tax!
Get back 3 free milk coupons ($4.19 each)

    EACH TRANSACTION AFTER THE FIRST:

    Buy 7 boxes of cereal @ $1.79 each = $12.53
Buy 3 gallons of the off brand milk @ $2.29 each =+ $6.87
    = 19.40 + tax
    - 6 (Use 3 coupons for -$1/2 boxes and 3 doublers)
    - 12.57 (Use your 3 free milk coupons @ 4.19 off each)
= $.83 plus tax for 7 boxes of cereal and 3 gallons of milk

There are 5 cereals that I know of priced at the $1.79, other cereals will be more than that.
And coupons are plentiful on ebay!

There are lots of other scenarios – but I like this one the best!

With the McCormick deal I saw the ad says ‘identical item only’. Does this mean both items have to be Cinnamon (for example) or that they both have to be McCormick same size bottle?

  26. 26
    Courtenay says:

I found a brick coupon for $.55/2 cream cheese. I don’t know how to add a link to the coupon, but I found it on moneysavingmom.com (moneysavingmom.com/2010/02/cream-cheese-coupon.html).

  27. 27
    Amy Conner says:

I don’t know if this needs to be clarified or not but the catalina for the McCormick will only print if you are buying food coloring or extract right? Not the spices.

  28. 28
    Jennifer says:

Tricia, Albertsons has done the “free milk with cereal” in the past and it is definitely at YMMV. I’ve had some checkers take the full $4.19 off and I’ve had some take only the exact amount of the free milk off. It all depends–so I just cross my fingers for a nice checker! ;)

When the doublers come i am going to get a few boxes of Ronzoni pasta. I didnt buy any last time it was on sale, so I have room. There are some printable coupons for .75/1 Smart Taste and $1/2 Healthy Harvest on ronzoni’s website and they were listed as $1 in the ad. If you have two computers you can get 2 of each coupons. And that is 6 boxes of pasta for free. Perfect amount for me right now. And I did check but there are not really any coupons on ebay right now for these so you cant do a super stock up unless you have access to mulitple computers.

I was just wondering if anyone has tried buying the cruisers as part of the spend $20 get $5 back.? Did it work as part of this promo? Thanks!

    Sophie says:

I was going through the ad today (for like the 5th time) and finally noticed that the Freschetta pizza is on sale for $4.99. There are coupons on freschetta’s website for $1 off. You enter you email and can print twice per computer. With doubles that is only $2.99 per pizza. I am getting a few of those! Also, most people may not need juice after the frozen foods promo, but the Tree Top is $1.69 with in ad coupon and I found a $1/2 coupon on tree top’s website, so with doublers they are .69. I will be getting two of those as well. A little off topic, does anyone know the current price of the Mccormick Extracts. I have heard they are no longer $1.99 and changed prices on Wednesday, but I have not been in to check.

  39. 39
    Amanda says:

        Sophie says:

So I did some price checking tonight at Albertsons in preperation for my shopping and the Vanilla extracts are $4.99. The food colorings are $3.69 on up. So if you buy 2 at a time and use doubles (and they let use you use a coupon for your free item) they will still be free after the catalina. Also the 3 pack of Tree Top juices are on sale for $1.00, so if you print the $1/2 tree top coupon from the tree top website and double you can get those for free. The Del monte fruit cups are also on sale for $1. You can get a coupon for $1/3 on the del monte website and double and they will be .33 a piece. I love the grapefruit ones because I hate cutting grapefruit and this is a pretty good price compared to fresh. Also the Crisco Puritan Canola Oil is on clearance for $2.99. The coupon is still available on coupons.com and just .99 after doubles. I dont know if this is a good price for canola oil since the bottle is a bit smaller, but I had been wanting to try it. And this was the last thing I saw. There were packages of the low sodium Sargento shredded cheese for $1.99. A $1/1 coupon just came onto coupons.com, so free with doubles. Just some more ideas!
