DIY: Hair Detangler Spray!
I don’t even want to think about the amount of money I have spent on hair detangler spray for my girls’ hair, and at times mine as well! I can sometimes find a decent deal on the Suave brand of the detangler spray, but not often! So I decided to look for a do it yourself recipe! I found one!! Ready to make your own hair detangler spray? I am pretty sure you have the all the ingredients for this do it yourself item already – which makes it even better, right? 🙂

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
(1) Empty Spray Bottle (I used an empty detangler spray bottle, but you can use any.)
¼ cup of hair conditioner (Any conditioner will do; have you noticed my love for Herbal Essence yet?)
Roughly 2 cups of water
So you could actually be all technical and such by attempting to measure the conditioner out and then figuring out how to get it into the tiny hole of the spray bottle like I did.
As you can see, this was not my brightest idea ever! 🙂 So when I do this again, I will just squirt some conditioner into the spray bottle itself, I’m not picky about measurements anyhow!
To prove this point, after I finally got the conditioner into the bottle, I just filled it the rest of the way up with water – so i could be way off by the 2 cups measurement!
HOWEVER – it works great, and again, I am thrilled by the fact that I get to decide the scent! 🙂
It took a few little sprays and – ta da – nice smooth and detangled hair! I was worried about it making the hair look or feel oily but it didn’t, it looks great, and of course, smells wonderful! 🙂
I had the conditioner on hand, but I originally picked it up for $.48 and used about $.18 worth!! All in all, it cost me about $.18 to make a bottle of hair detangling spray that would have normally cost me $3.00+ at the store!! I could make 16+ bottles for the amount it costs me to buy 1 at the store!!! Does that make me happy? Yes, yes it does!

A suggestion, as I always thin my shampoos and conditions , use distilled or purified bottled water , I have some that have gone sour from tap water.
Great idea Nancy, thanks for sharing!
Did you use 25% conditioner vs 75% water? Or 90-10??
Closer to 10% Conditioner 90% Water
What a great idea!! =)
so simple! why didn’t I think of that? I’ll be doing this tonight 🙂
I know — and the amount of money it will save too!!! 🙂
I just bought a $0.96 spray bottle from the aisle in Target where they have travel size toiletries. Since I am making it myself, I can use a smaller bottle to save space (hot commodity in our house).
