Great for Parties!
Make up a big batch of this recipe for your next party or family treat. If you need some help, this copycat Wendy’s Frosty recipe is so easy to prepare, even your kids can make it, without too much supervision.
Ingredients
All you need to recreate this frozen Wendy’s Frosty Copycat Recipe from your own kitchen is Cool Whip, Chocolate Milk and Sweetened Condensed Milk!
You can also make a low-fat version of this recipe by using low-fat versions of the ingredients.
Use a Blender OR Ice Cream Maker!
This Wendy’s Frosty Copycat recipe can be made in a blender or an ice cream maker.
I don’t have an ice cream maker, so I use my blender instead and it works great! You’ll just need to cut the recipe in half and whip it all up twice. Overall, it makes about 14 cups of chocolate frosty.
Just add the ingredients to your blender, one by one, finishing off with the cool whip.
Then just whiz the ingredients together and let it set up in the freezer for 2 hours (stirring it every 30 minutes). You can use a freezer bowl to speed things along, or any mixing bowl that is freeze safe.
Final Thoughts
I was so impressed by how spot on the taste and texture of this recipe was. It’s as close to a Wendy’s chocolate frosty as you can get without getting in the car and driving over to buy one! Now if only I had some fries…
If you try this copycat frosty on your own, let us know what you think! Does it taste better or worse than a Wendy’s frosty?

there is no step 5 on my phn. still stumped on when to put cool whip help!!!
Hi Carol, if you are making it in the blender, just mix in the cool whip with the other ingredients while blending. 🙂
She said above, “Just add the ingredients to your blender, one by one, finishing off with the cool whip.”

My husband and I love Frostys. Is there anything I can use in the place of cool whip?
You’d probably want to stick with cool whip, just because of its consistency. You could test out heavy whipping cream, but I’d mix it until it’s fluffy, then add in the other ingredients.
Can I use chocolate almond milk instead of regular milk?
I use almond milk and chocolate milk powder like Gordon Ramsey. This recipe is not legit Wendy’s recipe. Wendy’s is a low calorie liw fat ice milk. No coolwhip.
I use almond milk stop and shop hot chocokate mix and cream with ice. Frostys are ice milk. The moment you add cream it’s ice cream.
Made the Frosty, only 1/2 recipe, since whole is way too much. We ate some, tasted great. Left remainder in freezer.
Now completely frozen. Won’t even scoop. What to do??
Let thaw a little then blend add 1 Tbl milk
Yep this is it. We use condensed milk and just lite Cool Whip and also just lite or 1% Choc Milk though. Also add 1/4 cup of Lite Chocolate Syrup real not imitation. We did in a Waring Ice Cream Maker.
Can you make is without an ice cream freezer? Mix and put in freezer?
Hi Mimi! You absolutely can! I don’t have an ice cream maker either. This works great to blend and freeze! Just stir every 45 minutes or so… Until it reaches the desired consistency. Enjoy!
I dont have a blender. can u just mix it real good with a hand held mixer? I dont have a ice cream freezer either, u can put it in the refrigerator freeze, cant u? Thanks
Yes you can use a handheld blender. And then go ahead and pour it into a freezer safe bowl and pop it in the freezer! Yes, your fridge freezer will work great!
Do you have to defrost the cool whip first or do you add in frozen?
omg its so good but for some reasone it is not that thick.
Hmmm, maybe freeze it for a bit longer?
Did you ever use white milk and vanilla extract to make this vanilla instead of chocolate?
I haven’t yet… if you do, please let me know how it turns out!
