DIY Easter Egg Stamping! How to make beautiful eggs with food coloring and a sponge.
I bet you didn’t know you already have everything you need to make awesome Easter Eggs. Well, guess what?! You do! All you’re going to need are a few basic kitchen items to create this simple Easter Egg craft.
So, are you ready to get started?!
Here we go!
- Eggs
- Food Coloring
- Sponge
- Stamps (if you have them)
- Scissors
- Small plate or container to hold your sponge
*Just remember that food coloring can stain so be sure to keep your sponges off your tables and keep a few wet wipes near by for stained fingers.
Get all of your tools set out and ready to use.
Take your scissors and cut a small square out of your sponge. Then, place your sponge in your container (or on a plate) and add several drops of food coloring to the top.
Your sponge has just become an ink pad. Crazy!! My mind was BLOWN (Yes, sometimes it is the small things that turn me into a giddy school girl)! Moving on…
Next, press your stamp into the sponge…
And carefully press your stamp onto your egg.
See how easy it is to create a fancy egg?
Add as many stamps in as many colors as you like until your egg is ready for Easter. 🙂 If you’re not into the art deco look, keep reading.
Still here?
Ok, since you’re still reading, I’m assuming you like your Easter Eggs a bit more colorful. So, this is where we move into stamping Part II!
Pick up the sponge that’s coated in your food coloring and press it into the egg….
And wallah! You’re left with marbled Easter Eggs! YAY!
This is seriously the EASIEST way I’ve ever dyed an egg and since I didn’t spend a dime, this will probably be the way we dye our eggs in our house from now on! Yes, you can call me frugal. 😉
I hope you have fun with this!
