It all began on October 8th, 2008. Cathy and Monica started this coupon blog to help friends and family learn about their new money saving hobby couponing! Since then they have taught thousands of women (and men)

Got confused on the Chex Mix, the Video Value is $1/4, not $1/1. But it’s still the same price listed. I’m really excited about that, I could probably eat all 4 bags in one day…
Also, for the OB Tampons, if you go to OB’s website, click USA for your country, and click the video message, then watch the whole video, you’ll get a chance to print a $2/1 coupon for the OB Tampons, which should make them free.
You could also google “OB Tampon Apology” to get to the video message quicker.
thanks Edie! that video was hilarious
Yes, it is $1/4… thanks I fixed it!
That video was soooo funny!!!
Listening to “my” song…glad I read this before I closed the window!
Although, after all that, no more coupons.
Did you click on the “United States” version? The “Canadian” one said it was out of coupons for me too, but the US one gave me two!! (and yes, the song is the same for both)
Just FYI: Had a hard time today with the Chex Mix deal; the ad only says Chex. The Chex Mix wasn’t listed on the shelf as a sale price, it was regularly priced at 3.19. I got the ad out at the register and showed them, but then realized it only said Chex. The cashier said that maybe it was for the mix too and adjusted the price, but I’m guessing its not really for the mix, maybe its for cereal? Anyway, just keep an eye on your totals so you’re not surprised.
(PS I live in SoCal where our Rite Aid sale ads begin on Friday instead of Sunday)
Chex Mix was $3.19 at my Rite Aid. The cashier said it was on sale last week, but I don’t know for how much. And the Thermacare heat wraps were $3.99, not $3.00, so they would be $0.99 after the +up. Too bad because I eat a lot of Chex Mix and use a lot of heat wraps. ;-(
Chex Mix was not ringing up $1 for me either, but the cashier and manager both said, sice “Chex” was in the ad and Bugles DID ring up $1 they would adjust it to $1. We were all confused. Just “Chex”. Not “Chex CEREAL” or “Chex MIX”…just “Chex” haha!
My store would not adjust the Chex to $1. They think it was an ad misprint.
Also, the writing instruments did not print the +up, on my receipt it said “$3 toward $10 +up for binders/folders…” so I wonder if that was a misprint also. Hmm…
As for the Thermacare, did you have them price checked? Mine were not marked but rang up properly. Tough week at the register
There were signs at my store saying the Chex Mix and the $3 +UP on binders, etc were both misprints. Darn it. But I got a screamin’ good deal on the Buy $30, get a $10 +Up!
And when I bought the One A Day vitamins, it printed a $3 Rite Aid coupon for Centrum Pro Nutrient vitamins that they let me stack with the $4 VV and the $5 from the RP, so after my 20% discount only $4!
Wow! I as lucky…I was the first one in there, so I guess the error was not discovered yet. Now I feel bad… :0(
I am so thankful to you, Mel! I LOVE your posts and never shop Rite Aid without checking with you first! Lol! Thank you!!!
Thanks!
My Rite Aid said the ad was supposed to read “Stax” not “Chex” but since the weight was listed and the Chex Mix was within the size range they honored the ad. Yay! Four bags Chex Mix + 2 O.B. tampons = $0.96 after tax.
I am confused about the 10 + up when you buy $30 of certain products. I tallied my stuff before coupons it was over thirty but no +up printed for that
Maybe I didn’t have the correct products? Is there an actual list?
Anything on Page 9 of the ad is included. It’s kind of got a yellow box around it.
FYI your dates on the rite aid sales are wrong. I fell for it last week and missed everything! The sales are back to their regular cycle Fri- Thur which means this week, they end on 1/12 (unless this is regional or something)
But even if it is regional, perhaps there should be mention to that anyways!
Katria, are you in California? I thought Iheard that some states had other days for their ads. I’m in Idaho, and my ad says “8-14″ Must be regional.
@Katrina – Mel’s dates aren’t wrong unless you live in one state – California I think. For the rest of us the sales are always Sun-Sat. Check the top of your ad and it will tell you what dates the sales are in your area. The Rite Aid website has always had a little “disclaimer” on the sale items and the rebates, etc saying that everything is on different dates in California. Once you know your state is different than the rest of the nation, just adjust the dates accordingly. Good luck with your Rite Aid shopping. (And if the “odd” state isn’t California, sorry, I always see the disclaimer but don’t pay it much attention since it doesn’t affect me.)
Yep
Yes I am in california and everything out here sucks for coupons! No doubles, no overages, wierd dates. Just bringing it up in case you wanted to add a disclaimer to your dates so those of us out here dont get confused. Now that I know about it, I wont forget again though!
Do we have any idea why california has to be so difficult?
Also the rogain mail in rebate is for 10 bucks not 20…
It is $10 for the 1ct OR $20 for the 3ct which is the one on sale this week. Read the entire rebate form for all the info.
