What Would You Do If You Could Live Mortgage/Rent-Free?
Have seen DIYNetwork’s Income Property before? It’s a good one! Licensed contractor Scott McGillivray really knows what he’s doing! He works with homeowners who are transforming part of their home into a space that can be rented out as an income property. For many of these homeowners, the income from their rental properties help cover their own mortgage, so they are working hard to live mortgage free.
It makes me think about what I would do if I could live mortgage/rent-free…
I would first use the money that was going toward the mortgage payment to pay off any debt. I may not even have debt to pay off by that time, but it is the first thing I would be sure to assess.
Being debt-free might not be exciting for some, but it would be such an awesome opportunity in my mind! Once that is all taken care of, I would start saving for some fun stuff – take the kids to Disneyland. Then continue saving money in order to take myself (and the hubby) to Hawaii! Yes! My savings account and retirement could really start to grow too!
