Welcome the October Featured F.A.B.

Last month we launched a new feature over here at Fabulessly Frugal called, the  “Featured F.A.B.” (Finder of Awesome Bargains).  Each month we invite a reader who stands out to us… she is the one who helps others in comments, emails us great deals, and displays the coupon ethics we try to teach to all of our readers.  In September we welcomed Becky as our first featured F.A.B. and we thank her for all her fun shopping scenarios!  But alas, her month has come to an end and we move on to our next victim (ha ha)…

We are excited to introduce the October featured F.A.B. Julee! Seems like Julee has been with us since the very early days!  Although we’ve never met her (didn’t you come to my house one time though Julee?), we feel like we know her!  Julee will post her shoping trip scenarios through out the month… just look for this “button” and her awesome deals!  I asked her to share her story with us so you could all get to know her a little better!

Hey everyone!  My name is Julee.  I’ve been couponing off and on for about 2 years now, but I’d say that I really became committed about a year and a half ago when we had that 1st (to my knowledge) huge Post cereal sale!  I got my parents pretty excited about couponing then too and they were always asking me to watch out for one thing or another to be on sale.
Things changed for us a little around the beginning of this year, when we found out that we’d have to be making some pretty big cash payments to my husband’s school to get him finished up.  My parents were gracious and allowed us to move into their 2 spare bedrooms to free up our rental cash to use towards the school payments.
This is where it gets a little tricky.  My grandparents also live here as well.  So with my two children (soon to be 3 at the end of November!), there are currently 4 generations living under 1 roof!  With a total of 8 (almost 9) people here, we go through a lot of food!  In order to make the grocery budget stretch as far as possible, everyone is very encouraging about my coupon craziness. 🙂
I’m very lucky to have several friends who are also excellent at couponing and willing to share their expertise.  I love learning from everyone at FabulesslyFrugal as well!  One of my favorite things about fellow couponers is that everyone is so friendly and willing to share.  I am always running into people at Albertsons who are offering me coupons and even a few times, sharing out of stock items in their carts with me!
I’m lucky enough to work part-time from home, but that makes me pretty picky about how to spend my “spare” couponing time.  So unless a sale is extremely spectacular, I’m pretty much just an Albertsons-couponer.  As I told one of my Albertsons’ cashiers a few weeks ago, sure I can get great deals at Walmart, but they don’t print out catalinas, free redbox codes or give discounts on gas 🙂
Welcome Julee!  We look forward to seeing what you come up with!

  • Wow–four generations under one roof! I’m sure that your children will have some wonderful memories and stories to share about the experience when they’re older. Very special–thanks for sharing! 🙂

Welcome Julee!!! I’m so excited to get to see what you do at Albies (and hopefully there will be some fantastic deals that get you into other stores this month)!!

Thanks Katie and Becky! I’m excited (and a bit nervous) to get out and find great deals to share with everyone 🙂 It’s going to be fun!
