I believe that the LeapPad 2 will be 39.99 at walmart on Black Friday. You might even be able to get it at the Black Friday price early.

Isn’t an 8-yo a little old for the leap frog? My daughter was about that age when she outgrew hers. A close friend gave one to her 7-yo last year, and she’s already bored with it. Not to be critical, but I’d suggest making the investment into a system designed more for older kids. She’ll get a lot more use out of it.

I just bought my 8 year old one for Christmas. Maybe I should return it and get something else? They have only had leapsters, play with the ipod touch, kindle fire and iphone. Hmm you are making me rethink her gift =)

I was concerned about the same thing, but apparently my daughter’s friends have it and she loved playing with it for the photo and art features. At the Black Friday Prices, I figure I’ll get it for since it’s what she really wants and then she can give it to my son with special needs when she gets bored with it. 🙂

I have to agree with Susan here. My 7.5 year old is outgrowing her leappad at a rapid pace. Partly because they just don’t make games or apps geared toward older kids. I have found a few games that are for recommended ages 8 and 9, but not many. I’m not trying to be a downer, I just know that ours won’t be around much longer. 🙂
