Target: Free Motrin and More Deals!

So the Target ad wasn’t very exciting, but I went to Target tonight and found some better deals than the ad had.

Motrin PM, 20 ct. $3.99

I have noticed that Target coupons are disappearing way too fast!  If you want this one, don’t wait to print it.  It seems like they’ve significantly lowered their print limits.

The rest of the match-ups are using coupons from coupons.com.  Just FYI so you can print them all in one stop!  Most of the following items are on price cut for a limited time!

If you see anything else, let us know.  We had an email from Fab FruGAL Kira letting us know that her Target in WA had Gerber baby food and onesies on clearance.  The Target I went to in Nampa, ID did have baby food on clearance for $.44 ea, but no onesies.  Watch for a clearance on those items at your store!  Thanks Kira!

Thanks for the Motrin PM idea – I went and got my two free!! One of them I found on clearance – 40 count for $3.38! 🙂 YEAH!! so I got 60 total for FREE! – LOVE IT! 🙂 – I also teamed up the brita pitcher coupon from target and the one from this weeks ss. and got $9 off. I’m still learning but oh how much fun it is! 🙂 – I’m in Kent, Wa. 🙂 Thank you!

My Target (Redmond, WA) wouldn’t allow the Motrin deal and after 3 different employees came over to scrutinize the coupons, I got a lecture on how Target only allows one coupon per item. I told them that was not what their written coupon policy says and even showed them (I have it printed out) and they still wouldn’t honor it. They also said they could not give me the deal because they don’t give away free products. I let them know that they could adjust the value of the coupon down, but they refused. I asked for my coupons back and told them I’d be contacting corporate. Also, the Classico sauce at my store was not the right size for the awesome coupon that came out yesterday.

I purchased the 20 count for $3.99 (Boise) and the register did not recognize the coupon, when scanned, which was not a problem since they have a button they can push to “Accept Anyway” (coupon only excludes trial). After accepting the manufacturers coupon, the register automatically adjusted the Target.com “in store” coupon to .99 cents. My cashier did not have to manually adjust the Target Q. I just paid the .18 cents sales tax.

I’ve had coupon issues in the past when items are less than the coupon value, mainly because cashiers didn’t know what to do and don’t understand their store’s coupon policy. I think it takes time to “educate” and train employees and have not had quite the same problems, but every once in a while I will run into a cashier that doesn’t handle coupons well or know what to do. I also get judgments/attitudes from cashiers about getting things for free, but try to ignore it and not let it bother me.

It seems like they are mistaking the 1 coupon per offer, not realizing there is a difference between the “manufacturer’s coupon” and the Target “in store coupon.” Cashier’s do get confused and flustered, especially with the mobile coupons, which scan using a barcode sent to your phone (monthly text – sign up @ Target.com).

*** You might try another Target, or go back at a different time/shift, just to see. Give them the manufacturer’s coupon first, and then after they scan it and hit “ACCEPT ANYWAY”, present the Target.com coupon to scan.

My manufacturer’s coupon beeped, too, so she had to override it with the “accept anyway” button, then she saw the Target Q and refused to let me use it. So I told her what the written store policy says and she called someone over and then they called another person and all three of them said no way, it’s not allowed, even though it clearly is. Incidentally, I got home and unpacked my stuff and noticed the Motrin was in the bag, then checked my receipt and it was not on there, so now I need to go back anyhow and deal with it or else I’m stealing! Craaaap. =) But maybe I’ll have a good night’s sleep. Haha.
