Swagbucks…And A Starbucks Gift Card Giveaway…

You’ve heard about Swagbucks before …. right?

Swagbucks is a virtual currency that you earn on Swagbucks.com by doing the things you do every day – searching the web, shopping at your favorite retailers, submitting polls, and completing special offers.

Since signing up for Swagbucks a little over a year ago I have been able to earn over $420 in Amazon Gift Cards to date!  Yep.. it’s true!  In fact if you haven’t signed up for Swagbucks yet and want to get started… You can go HERE to sign up…  Last Christmas I was able to do almost all my Christmas shopping… FOR FREE because of Swagbucks… It was pretty sweet.

My teenagers were thrilled to receive gift cards to iTunes in their stockings last year instead of oranges…  Basically… Swagbucks has helped me rise to rock star status in our house…

How To Earn Swagbucks…

Searching the Web..
If yours is a winning search, you will see something like what you see above… If I had to guess I’d say the average amount I win is 10 Swagbucks… sometimes more and sometimes less… and I typically win 3-5 times a day. Swag Bucks can be won in denominations ranging from 1 – 1,000. (The highest I’ve ever won is 52 Swagbucks).

Taking Surveys
Score 1 Swag Buck per day just for clicking on the Survey page… there are multiple surveys you can take to earn higher amounts ranging from 50 Swagbucks to 200+ (I once earned 150 Swagbucks for a survey).

“Each survey is looking for a unique type of person to complete the questionnaire. There may be times when you do not qualify for a survey based on the answers you enter. The “Odds” percentage gives you an indication of how difficult it may be to qualify for that survey. The higher the odds, the greater the likelihood that you’ll qualify for the survey.”

Shopping at the Shop & Earn Mall

Select one of the partnering online retailers and earn 2 Swag Buck for every dollar you spend. I have used this feature several times in the last year. Once I ordered a wedding gift online from Macy’s and scored 150 points. Another time I bought my daughter some running shoes thru Nike.com … and I scored boo koo points when Then Handsome ordered his new camera online as well. Basically you earn 2 swag points for every dollar you spend. Simply go to the Swagbucks site first and click thru to the desired retailer and order as you normally would.

Watching videos
Swag Bucks are awarded randomly via Swag Bucks TV. You can earn 3 points from watching videos via Swagbucks… and you can earn the 3 swagbucks amount several times in any given day. I typically have the videos play while I’m making dinner in the kitchen… it’s fun to watch in between tasks.

Completing Special Offers
To ensure that an offer has been completed, follow the instructions provided for each individual offer. The offer needs be completed in the same session and all information required to complete the offer MUST be accurate. The majority of offers will credit your Swag Bucks account within a few minutes. However, the estimated wait time varies from offer to offer. Some may take a few hours or a couple of days before final confirmation is received.

Finding Swag Codes
Swag Codes can appear anywhere, and at any time, throughout the Swag Bucks network including the Swagbucks newsletter, any Swag Bucks powered Search&Win Site; the Official Swag Bucks blog, their Facebook Fan Page, Twitter page, Flickr page; and affiliated partner sites. Swag Codes can be redeemed by entering the codes into the Swag Codes box on your My Account page.

Video Games & Cell Phones

I recently sent in 3 of my son’s old video games and earned over 1,000 swagbucks for doing so… You can also trade-in your old cell phones for swagbucks as well and there is no limit to how many phones you can recycle.

So there you have it… Sign up for Swagbucks today and start saving special you have on your list!

**************

In addition to earning free Christmas gifts… another way I like to spend my Swagbucks is to cash them in for Amazon.com gift cards… Why?

Well… because Amazon sells almost everything… including food…

And coffee…

And because I love Swagbucks so much (and practically anything else that’s free) I’m going to giveaway 2 of my $10 Starbucks gift cards that I have earned to our FAB readers…

Simply leave me a comment below telling me what you’ll be doing with your $10 Starbucks gift card if you win.   I’ll pick 2 lucky winners tomorrow @5pm.

I will take my best friend for a quick (or long) coffee break from her amazing but hectic life with 2 kids and dozens of responsibilities.

I don’t have kids so I get to be the friend that reminds her she needs to take time for herself (and then make her do it!). She will have a Caramel Macchiato, and I will have an Americano, and maybe we’ll split a brownie or cooking and we will reminisce about doing pretty much the same thing when we were 18 and just out of high school! Sounds like a nice break, right?

  • Kalie

I am cheap an have never even been to Starbucks, so it will be a nice way for me to experience it without the cost. Thanks for sharing your cards in another awesome giveaway.

  • Jessica Z

My favorite way to enjoy Starbucks is sans kids and with a good book! Thanks for doing this giveaway… I am excited to just be starting couponing and look forward to following your site for deals and ideas!

  • Brandi

If I win I will buy a soy mocha as a special treat! 🙂

  • candace

I will probably give it as a special treat to my husband, who likes to have lunch there on occasion. Sometimes its nice to go out to eat for lunch instead of having to brown bag it!!

  • Julie

One of my closest friends had her mother-in-law move in with her six months ago. She loves her mother-in-law but has a lot of extra work to do to help her out; in addition to her own family. Not to mention how difficult it can be to have an extra person living with you (and her house was small to begin with). If I won the Starbucks money I would give it to her and tell her to go relax and have a coffee and a few minutes to herself!

  • Segou

I will likely use it at Starbucks on a “date night” doing homework with my hub. We both work full time and go to school, and this would be a very special treat!!! Hope I win 🙂

  • Britni

I LOVE Starbucks but I HATE paying for it so I never go. I would leave the kids at my moms, grab a good book and head to a nice relaxing break so I can return to my fam with my batteries recharged.

  • Christie

I love Starbucks…..I miss it….I gave it up for Lent…..So I would be using my winnings to go on Easter Sunday and have a Venti Extra Hot Caramel Macchiato the moment the store opens. 🙂

  • lacey

Since I am a Seattle Best – Hot Chocolate fan (True treat for chocolate lovers Try it <3) I will go to starbucks and will randomly pick out someone and pass the card to him and her. I think it will be pretty amazing to bring a smile to an unknown face 🙂 or I will give it to the cashier so that she can give free coffee/ tea to the customer until the card runs out….

    • lacey

Also Mavis Thanks for the opportunity and I would like to know how to use the surveys as I never had any success with swagbucks surveys. Whenever I click on them they direct me to sign into some other survey website. Kindly let me know what I am missing

  • Christina

This is a busy time of year for both my husband and me, so we typically do not get much time together so I would take my husband for a coffee date!

  • Michael

Venti white chocolate mocha for me and a venti chai latte for my wife. We haven’t been to starbucks in ages because I’m too cheap but those are our absolute favorite drinks they have. It would be nice to take the kids to grandma’s and have a nice afternoon with just the two of us, sipping on some coffee. Then we can pay for grandma’s services with a cup of coffee from what’s left on the gift card. Thanks for the opportunity.

  • Kanani

Caramel Macchiattos…YUM! I’d use the gift card on my Starbucks fix over the next two weeks as I complete my final project for college…lots of late nights ahead!

  • I am going to get my husband his favorite treat – a venti mocha frappucino and get myself my favorite treat of an iced double tall SF vanilla soy carmel macchiato!

  • Mmmm….I would probably buy a iced caramel Macchiato or two. 🙂

  • Alli

I will use it to escape from my 2 year old and 4 month old and have a quiet 15 minutes to myself! I fully intend on putting my feet up on an extra chair and really relaxing (no guarantees that i won’t fall asleep! oh sleep…)

  • Noble

My mom and I can enjoy a coffee together 🙂

  • Kay

Giving them to my husband for his birthday- he loves Starbucks!

  • Joanna

I’ll trade with my friend for Rite Aid Ups rewards and then I’ll buy the Tena pads that are free after SCR next month. I’ll then use the Tena pads to trade with my grandma in exchange for a hand made quilt. I will sell the oven mitts at a yard sale for $100. I will additionally get a 9.99 rebate from Rite Aid for the Tena pads. This brings my total up to $109.99. I will use this money to buy a pair of chickens. I will then start a home-based business of producing organic eggs. This business will explode and I will have enough money to buy a small island in the Tropics and spend the rest of my days enjoying the fruits of what started as a $10 starbucks card.

That, or I’ll take a friend to coffee. Hope I win!

  • Angie B

I go to Starbucks almost every week night to write, which is a great way for me to relieve stress. I can only afford to get regular coffee, so if you gave me a gift card, I could treat myself to a fancy drink like a mocha or a latte. 🙂

  • Brandi O

My Little loves Starbucks, so I would take him to get some cocoa and a treat while we played games.

Wi will treat my hubby! He loves fancy coffee drinks but I am WAY too cheap so we only have coffee at home.

  • Susan

Thanks for the chance to win Mavis!

My daughter and I like to go to Starbucks on Sundays. I love their mochas and occasionally treat myself, but usually have their French Roast to save money and calories. DD has a strawberries and cream frappacino, and order the petite scones and split them.

    Love Starbucks!

  • Oh man, if I win one of those $10 Starbucks gift cards, I’m going to take myself on a much needed mommy-cation.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Sheila M.

I would buy some VIA to send to my college daughter who misses Starbucks almost as much as she misses her home and family.

  • Janna

I would use it on a date when I go out with my husband! (Hopefully we’d stop off for a few coupon trips! I am obsessed with couponing and he loves that I love it so much;) ) and we’d both get out Vanilla Latte’s. Mine a Skinny decaf. His just straight up! Thanks so much:)

  • Sophie

I would go with my favorite co-worker so we can take a break one day from the crazy stress of our jobs!! It’s amazing how refreshing some down time in a comfy Starbucks chair, a latte, and girl time can be!!

  • Angela

Well, I have 4 kids and am pregnant with my 5th, due in a few months, so I would use my Starbucks gift card for much needed shots of caffeine!! 🙂 I love Starbucks, but I’m really too cheap to shell out that much for coffee (I always think about how many groceries that $4-$5 could have bought us). So it would be a wonderful treat! Thank you for doing this giveaway! How fun for whoever wins!!

  • I would take my mom and we would enjoy French Vanilla Lattes with good conversations, and maybe a sweet treat!

  • Susan

How did you get $450 in Amazon gift card in just a year? Swagbucks only allows 5 purchases of the same card in a month, which is a maximum of $60/year if you buy the $5 cards. What am I missing?

Also, I do quite a few searches a day, but only win SB’s maybe once or twice. A few times I’ve won them three times in day, but that’s only happened a few times. I refuse to go searching for codes. If they land in my lap I’ll redeem them, but I find searching for them to be a waste of time. I do have a day job. 🙂 I’ve NEVER gotten any more SB’s on a Friday than any other day and neither have my friends, so I’m convinced that “mega swagbuck fridays” is all hype.

That said, I do like swagbucks and have found it to be a nice way to pick up a little spending money. Coupons have been relatively lucrative for me, at 10 SB’s per redemption. I try to print all of my coupons.com coupons on swagbucks. It took a while for them to start rolling in, but in the past few months I’ve averaged about 50-60 sb’s per week from coupon redemptions. That’s only 5 or 6 coupons per week — easy. I try to print only coupons that I am likely to use but always end up with extras, so if they’re close to their expiration date and I won’t be using them, I’ll leave them on store shelves for others to use.

    • Mavis

You can redeem 5 of any particular gift card in any given month. Meaning… you could redeem 5 $10 Starbucks gift cards in one month and 5 $5 amazon.com gift cards… or any of the others each and every month of the year. The possibilities are endless…

I’d say I typically earn about 50 swagbucks or so a day via searches, 50-75 a day on tasks… like swag t.v., videos, surveys, the poll, No obligation special offer. I also earn Swagbucks via referrals, trade ins and every once in a while they’ll have some sort of deal on the main page I’m interested in 🙂

  • Rachel

I would take my dear friend Narcisa out for coffee!! She was out of the country for 3 months, and since she’s been back we haven’t really had a lot of US time (without our husbands), and it would be awesome to go grab a coffee, take the kiddo to the park, and she can play while we chat 🙂 (or chase her… either way, it would go great with an iced coffee!!!)

  • Ruth

Thank you Fabulessly Frugal for everything you do!

  • Sarah

  • Julie

One of my biggest splurge items ever is going through the one and only Starbucks drive through and getting the organic chocolate milks for my kids and a Venti-Skinny-Anything for myself. Before my youngest (turns 2 in a week) could even talk, he would get excited when we just pulled up, before we even ordered he knew what was coming to him! I still find this hilarious, as we very rarely even go there! My favorite thing about it is not going in with the kids, and the absolute bliss on their faces as they get their drinks. I also love that the milk boxes have little strips that you can use to open into a spout so that they can still drink it after they lose their straws inside the boxes, which they inevitably do 1/3 of the way into the drink!

  • Carol

I would take a friend out for coffee.

I know it would be a blessing to her (she adores coffee), and it would be even more fun if she knew it was from your site!

  • Oooh, if I won, I’d be celebrating the end of spring break with a Frappucino. I love my kiddos, and we had a lot of fun, but I like the return of routine, too. And a little free time for me. 😉

I would use it to accompany myself to some study dates to help me go from nurse-to-be to nurse. 🙂 For Lent, I’ve decided to give up all but spending five dollars a week on myself for non-essential items. Yesterday, I spent 1.80 using coupons and bought sharpie pens, 2 orville popcorn 3 packs, chips, and a granola bar and would love to add a caffenie drink to the list from a certain Starbucks near my house! Thank you for all your tips!

I would use it to go all by myself to organize my binder while my teens are at youth group and the babies are at home with dad (this is what I usually do on Wed nights so it saves me a few $$).

I would treat my teaching partners to a drink for all their help and support they offer me and my family. It’s a small way of saying thanks AND getting them through the day with all the little munchkins!

I love Starbucks, but it is definitely a treat, not an everyday thing. I work for American Greetings as a merchandiser. After a holiday, there are big card changeovers to do. One of my stores is a Target and it takes me 5 hours to change it over! There is a Starbucks there, and I always want a coffee to keep me going.

  • This would get me halfway through my work week! Thanks for the giveaway! :-))

  • Mandy H.

I would definitely take my friend out to coffee. She LOVES Starbucks and I do too. However, we often cannot afford that “extra” expense right now. It would be a wonderful special treat for the both of us!! Thank you for the opportunity!!

My 5 year old daughter loves to go to Starbucks (or Weight Watchers, as she calls it) for a cookie. No idea how she got Weight Watchers, but it is totally cute and really confused my husband the first time she asked him for a couple dollars to go to Weight Watchers. LOL
