Summer Fun… Boredom Busters…

I don’t know about you… but I like to have a few tricks games stashed away for those long summer days when the kids are claiming to be “bored”.  Here are my top 3 picks for a little peace and quite this summer. 🙂

Scrambled States

Quick! Find a state that ends with the letter A. Now find one that borders Tennessee. Have fun learning about the United States in this madcap game of observation and quick reflexes. Collect cards by matching states to a Scramble card. Or “Go the Distance” and find a state’s closest neighbor. Whoever scrambles to match and collect the most state cards wins. Includes 50 scramble cards, 50 state cards, 4 U.S. maps, and rules.

Rory’s Story Cubes

Let your imagination roll wild with Rory’s Story Cubes! This pocket-sized creative story generator provides hours of imaginative fun for all ages. The Story Cubes are nine dice with a different icon on each side. Roll the cubes and look at the face up images. Pick an image that will be the starting point for your story. Beginning with “Once upon a time…”, make up a story that somehow links all 9 face up images. There are no wrong answers with Rory’s Story Cubes – just use your imagination!

I grew up playing with a snap circuit board and it was my favorite “game” for years. When my parents cleaned out all our kid stuff out after we left that was the one thing I asked to hold on to.
