Spruce Up Your Front Door Using Pinecones & Ribbon

Learn how to spruce up your front door using pine cones:

Supplies:

  • 6-8 pinecones (any size will work). You can buy them at Walmart, but I suggest to go outside and get some for free!
  • Hot glue gun
  • Ribbon of your choice (roughly 1 spool, I purchased mine from Hobby Lobby for $3.99, spa color)
  • scissors
  • A frame – optional (I bought one from local thrift shop for a few dollars and painted it black)

Cut your ribbon as desired length (I did mine 1 foot, 5″ long)

Put a large dot of hot glue on desired area of pinecone

Fold ribbon over to create a finished look and place it on the glue

Let dry

Repeat until all the pine cones are attached to the ribbon

Gather all the ribbon together and arrange how you would like the pine cones to hang (make sure to not hang them at all the same length to create some dimension).

Tie a large knot with all the ribbon and slip the knot over a door hanger (these can be found all over, mine is from Walmart. These typically are only a few dollars)

Pull the knot tight and cut the hanging ribbon ends on an angle, add your frame and you’re done!

This entire project cost less than $8.00

*Another decorating idea, if you don’t want to put this cute project on your front door pick a door in your home to display it on. This could add a much needed lift to a hall closet door!
