Saving Money on Home Decor {Fancy Farmgirls Style}

We introduced you to these lovely ladies last summer when they held their Fancy Farmgirls sale.  Their sale was so successful, and they had so much fun creating beautiful and unique items from “second hand” stuff, they decided to do it again!

We thought what they did was so FAB-U-LESS…

that we asked them to give us some inspiration!

Hey all you frugal gals!  We know you all may be pros at this grocery saving game, but we wanted to show you how you can convert that amazing skill you have to spot a deal, into home décor.

Take 3 friends, 1 day, and a limited budget!  Their mission?  To style out a little girl’s room on nothing but second- hand buys. That’s right!  EVERY piece of furniture, bedding, accessories, lighting,  EVERYTHING  was purchased at a thrift store or garage sale, or free from our neighbors back yard.

We didn’t stop there.  With the holidays fast approaching and budget’s tight, we set out to show you that you can decorate for the holidays on the cheap AND in style. The second-hand rule applies here as well.

So, did all our “treasures” come like this?  No.  Most of them required some “diamond in the rough vision” and a whole lot of paintin’ and sandin’.  Did we walk into a thrift store and find it all in one day?  No, but hey that’s half the fun!  It’s the thrill of the hunt as they say.  Does it give us more satisfaction knowing we did it and how much we saved?  Yesss! (Dave Ramsey would be so proud).

So, get saving and get decorating!  Who knew you could do both?

If you’re short on time and elbow-grease and need something new for your home, or if you’re still searching for that perfect Christmas gift, come to the Fancy Farmgirls Sale.

    I am definitely inspired! I have been searching sometime for a white dining table and seeing this post, looking at the Fancy Farmgirl blog and now the How Does She site has given me the idea to paint my existing dark dining table and chairs in white! Wahoo! I can use what I have and STOP looking for a new dining table set! Why didn’t I think of this sooner?! 🙂
