Next time you have watermelon and banana around, just slice, measure, and throw some in the freezer. Then you’ll be able to whip up this refreshing slushy whenever you want a healthy, cool summer snack or treat. My kids really loved it and I feel like it is pretty healthy, so it’s a win-win!

  • 2 cups frozen watermelon cubes
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup water, plus up to 1/4 cup if needed
  • juice from 1 lime
  • 1-2 tablespoons pure maple syrup or honey


  1. Put all ingredients in the blender or food processor.
  2. Break up the frozen chunks a bit, if needed.
  3. Then blend until the mixture is smooth.
  4. You may need to add more water, a little bit at a time, to get the mixture to loosen up and continue blending.
  5. Don't add too much water or you will lose some of the flavor.
  6. My blender kept getting stuck, so I had to stop often and stir it around.
  7. Serve immediately.
