Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have been craving these for weeks!  These are a fall favorite at our house.

½ cup shortening
1 ½ cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup pumpkin
2 ½ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 (12 oz) bag chocolate chips (or 10 oz bag of cinnamon chips)

Cream shortening and sugar. Mix in egg and pumpkin. Add remaining ingredients. Drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Makes about 2 ½-3 dozen.

Yum! I love pumpkin cookies and can’t wait to try these. I made some last week that didn’t turn out very good (can of pumpkin, spice cake mix, & choc. chips) – so I’ve been looking for a new recipe to try. Thanks!
