Hot Buttered Rum

hot buttered rum 1

This butterscotch drink is deliciously sinful. This is an alcohol free hot drink that tastes like warm butterscotch with the spices of eggnog or pumpkin pie. It is a great drink to serve at a party on a cold day. I thought this hot drink would be a perfect addition to our party food collection. With Super Bowl just around the corner this would be a great food for your Super Bowl party! You can make the drink ahead of time and stick it in the freezer and guests can serve themselves. All you need is hot water. I love to have party foods that can be made way ahead of time!

To serve Hot Buttered Rum at a party and keep it warm you could get one of these hot chocolate makers . I love mine! I have the one pictured below, I no longer see it for sale on amazon, but I found a cute retro one for less than mine usually sold for!

I hope you love this drink as much as my family does. Let me know what you think when you try it! It is a drink for the whole family kids and adults alike will love this drink.  A special thanks to my friend Stephanie who introduced my to this awesome recipe.

Note: If you prefer to make this an adult drink and add alcohol you could substitute the rum extract for rum.
