Homemade Cadbury Creme Eggs
Thanks to reader Becky for sharing this fun recipe with us! She found this recipe at instructables.com. I’m sharing the download she emailed to us because it is too detailed to layout in a post. The thing I love about this is that if you don’t have molds, there is an alternative recipe where you can dip in chocolate. You’d just need some long skewers!
Here are the ingredients needed:
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup butter, room temperature
- 3 cups confectioner’s powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- yellow food coloring
- 1 (12 ounce) bag milk chocolate chips
One hint they share is “if you choose the dipping method, you may consider adding 2 teaspoons of non-hydrogenated vegetable shortening to the chocolate to thin it and make it easier for dipping.”
You can view the full recipe and pictures at instructables.com, or Becky provided a pdf version here. Thanks Becky!

I like to pretend these are healthy, so posting how to make them with the ingredients doesn’t help ! ! ! ! !
I was just bellyaching to hubby less than an hour ago that I LOVE ♥ LOVE Cadbury eggs, but refuse to pay $2.50 for 5 of them! *LOL* Now I’ve got the recipe – thanks so much!
♥hugs♥
Bock bock bock, it’s that time of year again. Love the Cadbury, and now we can make our own.
I love you Helen. You make me smile!
I just HAVE to make these this year. This is my favorite Easter treat and I am on this funny “everything homemade” kick. This will fit right in! Thanks for posting the pdf link!
