Home Made Ice Cream Cake Recipe
{Pin This}
I LOVE ice cream cakes but they can be a bit spendy when you buy them from the store. I think this recipe has all the best parts and costs less to make. Mix and match the ice cream/Oreo flavors and have the kids help decorate the top when it’s all done! Keep in mind that you will need to start ahead of time to make sure you have plenty of time!
Ingredients
- Â 1 regular size package Nabisco Oreo Cookies, mashed fine
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 gallon ice cream (whatever flavor you like!)
- 1 jar hot fudge
- 1 tub cool whip
Directions
Mix mashed oreos with butter and press into 9×13 inch pan. Freeze 3-6 hours.
Remove ice cream from the freezer and let it sit out on the counter about 10 min or so to soften. Spread onto Oreo crust. Freeze 3-6 hours.
Run a butter knife under hot water then quickly dry and use to spread hot fudge on top of ice cream. Freeze 3-6 hours.
Spread cool whip on top of fudge. Freeze 3-6 hours.
Decorate and enjoy!

why do you say it takes 2 or 3 days? looks like you can do it in 9.5hrs.
thanks
A friend gave me this recipe and it said to freeze 12 hours each time, thus the 2-3 days ahead, but when I made it I only let it set in the freezer 3-6 hours and it turned out great! Thanks for pointing that out! I’ll fix and update the post.
