Easy Gourmet Burgers
{Pin This}
These gourmet burgers are a great way to sneak a little spinach in your family dinner. I have been making these burgers for years and my children never complain about the green spinach inside. They taste wonderful too. I made them with cheddar cheese this time since that is what I had on hand from the Fred Meyer sale, but mozzarella cheese is wonderful in these burgers too.
Ingredients for Cheesy Spinach Gourmet Burgers
½ envelope Lipton recipe secrets onion soup mix
1 lb ground beef { Zaycon Beef Deals }
½ package (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
½ c. shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (4 oz)
There are only 4 ingredients in my burger recipe. So they are quick and easy to make. Mix spinach, ground beef, cheese and onion soup mix together in a large bowl.
It is easiest to mix by hand, but you can mix with a spoon. If the raw meat is not your friend use gloves or get your super husband to mix the meat for you.
Form meat into patties and grill on a Indoor Grill or outdoor grill

Great idea with the spinach and cheese all mixed together! Brilliant girl!
They are so yummy! You are going to love them.
I’m going to try this with ground turkey and a vegetarian version using black beans! If you all try the black beans make sure you have some type of binder, like egg.
Great idea Michelle!
I made them for dinner tongiht, even my five year old loved them…..he ate 2
Sweet! Love to hear that your little one is eating spinach! Woot! So glad you loved the burgers.
Made today for lunch. We switched out the cheddar for blue cheese and they were delish! A keeper here.
Oh blue cheese sounds delightful. So glad you loved them. Thanks for letting me know.
We are trying these for dinner tonight, but I am considering using feta cheese instead of cheddar. I have some that needs to be used and it sounds yummy. Thanks for the recipe idea!
I bet they will taste fab!
Monica- you have no idea how much I love you for posting this recipe. This burger is AMAZING!!! I’ve made it twice now and everyone has been so impressed with it. I used ground turkey both times and its been awesome! Last night I wiped up some jalapeno sauce (its just thousand island with chopped jalapeno) and it was a TO DIE FOR combination. Thank you! This is my new go-to burger recipe!
So glad to hear you are loving it!
We made these for our 4th of July cookout and they were delish! We did use the mozzarella cheese and I melted a slide on my burger. Yum-O! Hubby had a good idea. Wonder how a meatloaf or even meatballs would be with the spinach. Think we may be trying those 2 ideas soon! Thanks for sharing!
So glad you enjoyed them. I love the meat ball idea. We had them for 4th of July too and everyone at our BBQ liked them!
Man that looks so good, but I couldn’t come near the stuff. The onion soup mix listed is like poison. It has MSG which messes with brain chemistry and give me and my family awful migraines, not to mention the caramel coloring that causes cancer in lab animals. I would rather use more ingredients if it meant feeding my family better.
I think you could use spinach, cheese and minced onion and still have a great result.
Sounds good. Add some season salt too and we’re in business!
These burgers were fantastic! I made them today for our BBQ and everyone loved them!
Awesome! So happy to hear that you tried them and liked them!
Trying this again tonight with fresh chopped kale instead of the spinach, since it is what I have on hand. I did have to add a small amount of water to the mixture to gain the right consistency.
That sounds fantastic! You will have to let us know how it turns out.
We make these with turkey or chicken meat and add Worcestershire. They are always a crowd pleaser!
Thanks for the great feedback! Glad you like it.
