Oreo Rice Krispie Treats! Yum!

This is my kind of Rice Krispie treat! Chunks of Oreo cookies in the Rice Krispie treat itself, then covered with white chocolate, and topped off with more crushed Oreos. Delicious! Plus, this treat is quick, easy to make, and portable.

I made a few baker’s half sheet pans of these Cookies and Cream Rice Krispie Treats for a cub scouting activity this year and they were a big hit! Yes, there were many residual crumbs, but we needed to vacuum anyway. 😉

This recipe will fill a 9×13 pan, but if you want to make it in a half sheet pan you can 1.5x the recipe and it will work out great.

The recipe calls for salted butter, but you can use unsalted and just add a pinch of salt to the mixture while the butter is melting. By the way, I highly recommend the Guittard Choc-Au-Lait white chocolate chips. They are the best! (The milk chocolate Guittard are awesome too.)

If you don’t have the extra cup of marshmallows, just go without and it will still work. The additional cup just makes the Rice Krispie treats a bit better. 🙂

Crush or chop the Oreo cookies into pieces about the size of pebbles. Most of it goes into the Rice Krispie treats, but reserve about 1/2 cup for the topping.

Once you have pressed the Rice Krispie treat mixture into the pan, you will want to start melting the white chocolate. I like to microwave it on 50% power for 30-second intervals. Be sure to stir after each and you’re done when the chocolate is melted and smooth. It will shouldn’t take longer than 2 minutes.

Quickly spread the white chocolate on and sprinkle with the Oreo cookie pieces. I like to gently press the Oreo pieces into the chocolate a bit too. It doesn’t take long for the chocolate to set and harden, then you can cut, serve, and enjoy!

Cookies and Cream Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

  • 1/4 cup salted butter (plus additional to butter pan)
  • 1 10.5-ounce bag mini marshmallows + 1 cup
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 10 Oreo cookies, chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 1 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
  • 6 Oreo cookies, chopped (about 1/2 cup)


  1. Butter a 9x13 pan or baking dish and set aside.
  2. Melt 1/4 cup salted butter in a large non-stick saucepan over medium-low heat. Swirl the melted butter over the bottom of the pan and up onto the sides to keep the marshmallows from sticking. Add in the marshmallows and stir constantly until melted. Remove from heat.
  3. Gently stir cereal into the marshmallow mixture, until evenly coated. Fold in the 10 chopped Oreo cookies and dump mixture into the prepared pan. Press mixture evenly, with greased hands or spatula, into the pan.
  4. In a microwave safe bowl, heat white chocolate chips on 50% power for 30-second intervals, stirring after each, and until melted and smooth. Spread melted chocolate evenly over the Rice Krispie treats and immediately sprinkle with the 6 chopped Oreos.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for 10 minutes or let rest on counter until chocolate sets up and hardens. Cut into 18 squares.
