These Frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites taste like ice cream treats but they are healthier because they are made from fruit… right?

Chocolate Peanut Butter Frozen Banana Bites

Rubbermaid containers

Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid 24-Piece Food Storage Container Set $11.99 (was $19.99)

  • -3 large bananas
  • -1/2 cup chocolate chips (either semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • -1/2 cup peanut butter
  • -Toppings (optional)- peanuts or coconut if desired . . . anything goes

  1. Set out a pan with a piece of wax paper on it.
  2. Cut up the bananas into good-sized chunks. Each banana should give you around 6-8 pieces.
  3. Heat the peanut butter and chocolate chips in the microwave on high for about a minute. Then stir until smooth.
  4. Dip the banana pieces in the chocolate-peanut butter mixture.
  5. Lay them out leaving some space between them on the parchment/wax paper.
  6. When you’ve “covered” them all, use the remaining mixture to spoon over the tops (for even more chocolate-y goodness).
  7. Top with toppings (if desired!).
  8. Transfer to the freezer for about an hour until hardened.
  9. You can enjoy them non-frozen but when they’re frozen, the banana tastes like vanilla ice cream...YUM!
  10. Cover with some plastic wrap or airtight container and freeze overnight.

  • Do you think I could make these with bananas that are already frozen? We just happen to have some sliced in our freezer… Sounds delish!
