Big Soft Homemade Pretzels
1 Tbs. dry yeast coupons for yeast
1 1/2 Cups warm water
2 Eggs beaten coupons for eggs
1/2 Cup oil
1/4 Cup sugar coupons for sugar
1/4 Cup instant milk
3/4 Tsp. salt
5-6 Cups flour
1 Egg white beaten
Coarse Salt or sesame seeds
Lightly grease 2 large baking sheets. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Blend in 2 eggs and oil. Add sugar, instant milk and salt. Mix in enough flour to make a nice soft dough.
Knead about 5 minutes until dough is smooth. Stretch out and divide dough into about 16-18 pieces. Try to make them all the same size so they cook evenly. (A few of my smaller ones cooked faster and I had to take them out a minute or two early.)
Roll each piece into a rope about 1/2 inch in diameter and 18-24 inches long. Form into pretzel shapes and place on greased baking sheet. Brush with the beaten egg white and sprinkle with salt or sesame seeds. Immediately bake at 425 degrees for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Yields 16-18 pretzels.
These are SOO yummy straight out of the oven! My hubby loves to eat them movie theater style and dip them in melted Velveeta!
