Do it Yourself “Pledge” Spray! Two Ingredients!!

Image copy

I’m so in love with this DIY. I cannot believe how easy and CHEAP it is to make your own “Pledge” spray! All you need are TWO ingredients!!!

Here they are:

  • 1/2 Cup Olive Oli
  • Lemon or Lime Essential oil (you can substitute 1/4 cup lemon juice)

You will also need a spray bottle to put it in. I used my Misto from Bed Bath & Beyond. It’s awesome! Pump the cap a few times and you turn your bottle into an aerosol can! And, you’re going to want to use a microfiber cloth to wipe your surfaces down.

Ok. Step 1: add 1/2 cup olive oil to your bottle.

Step 2: add about 20 drops of your lemon/lime essential oil into your olive oil. *Remember, if you don’t have essential oils, just use 1/4 cup of lemon juice instead.

Shake your bottle to mix the ingredients. Then, spray your homemade Pledge onto your wooden surface.

Now, here is a better picture of my table BEFORE I sprayed it down. All that gunk you see is left over glue from making Christmas decorations. It’s horrible!

And now here’s what my table looked like AFTER I used my homemade “Pledge”.

YAY!! All you can’t see is the happy dance I’m doing!! 🙂

This is SO easy and SO MUCH cheaper than buying the canned stuff!! Try this next time you have a wooden surface that needs a little sprucing up!

Sounds easy! Is it ok to use on a weekly basis for regular dusting? I’ve read a few posts about making DIY pledge with olive oil but have been hesitate to try it. Does the olive oil leave the furniture greasy? Thanks for sharing!
