Play with Purpose

Play with Purpose

Together, let’s #PlayWithPurpose

Toys”R”Us and Save the Children have joined forces to raise awareness and support for early childhood development programs promoting play in impoverished communities in the US. The company is also providing ”play packs” of developmental toys and information to help parents engage with their children through play.

Why should we Play with Purpose?

  • 15.5 Million U.S. Children Live in Poverty; Many Lack Playtime in Their Daily Lives
  • 10 Minutes of Play Improves Children’s Performance
  • Play Enhances the Progress of Early Development by 34%

Could you imagine not being able to afford toys for your kids?  I’m not talking iPads and motorized cars, I’m talking arts and crafts, play-doh, and balls.  Little things that make a huge difference for kids.

The #PlayWithPurpose campaign is designed to support Save the Children’s early childhood development programs which help children in some of America’s most under-served communities thrive. To further assist families, Toys“R”Us will provide Save the Children with “play packs” filled with toys that build key skills and encourage socialization, along with informational materials to educate parents on the benefits of engaging with their children during play.

To tell you more about this, there is a Twitter Chat on March, March 29 at 2PM EST, using #PlayWithPurpose!  It’s going to be fun to interact directly with them and find out how we can help support this cause and some of the amazing things they are doing! We are going to be there, and we hope you’ll join us too!  You can also check out

My daughter is one of the most generous people I’ve ever met.  She was excited to be able to share some of her birthday money with the Play with Purpose team.  She’s loving learning to do things online so when we got to visit,  she really had fun learning more about the program and even making a donation (now through April 24).

Save the Children is the leading nonprofit working to ensure every U.S. child is healthy, safe and learning. They invest in childhood — every day, in times of crisis, and for our future.
