Painted Lampshades

lampshades

I have never really cared for our lamps that we have in our living room.  My husband had them before we got married, and they are nice, just not really my style.  I am hoping some day we will get new ones, but they work fine, so I hate to just get rid of them, when we can be spending that money elsewhere.  Anyway, I have seen all sort of different ways to revamp your lampshades, and one of them was to simply paint them!  Easy!  We have lots of leftover wall paint, so I just grabbed a can and a paint brush and had at it.  I painted them first off of the lamp, and then I replaced it on the lamp base, switched on the light and touched them up.  With this little face lift, I can probably live with these lamps for at least a few more years, and they add a nice pop of color to our living room as well.

DIRECTIONS:

I started by just painting the shade on the table, and then putting it back on the base to see where I needed more paint.

You can see the spots much better when the light is on.

Easy peasy!!
