Freezer Meal Recipes: Open Faced Sloppy Joes
Open Faced Sloppy Joe Sandwiches OR Sloppy Joe Pizzas?
This week in honor of groundhogs day we are each predicting if we think it will be a long winter or an early spring. I think it will be a long winter, but I made something that would be great to eat and prepare in winter or in spring. In fact I added freezer meal instructions so you can even make sloppy joes now during winter and save them until spring in your freezer.
I created this recipe a few weeks ago when I wanted to use up the last of the artisan bread I had bought at Costco. I bought the Roasted Garlic 2 pack to try it out and we really liked it. We first served it with Zuppa Toscana Soup and put these garlic herb seasonings on it. Which was fantastic! But we did not go through both packs so I wanted to come up with another way to use the artisian bread. Plus like most nights I did not have a lot of time and I knew I had some sloppy joe meat in the freezer. So I threw this simple Open Faced Sloppy Joe recipe together.
Remove Sloppy Joe Meat from the freezer and let it thaw or prepare Sloppy Joe Meat Recipe. You could also use Manwich if you really want to simplify life. Cathy told me yesterday that Manwich is all she serves to her family and they really like it.
Slice Artisan Bread 1-2 inches thick and arrange on a baking sheet. I like to use my silicone baking mats because they are non-stick and reusable. My silicone mats make for a very easy clean up! I simply have to rinse them off.
Place sloppy joe meat on top of the bread.
Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese over the top of the meat.
Bake the Sloppy Joes in a 350° oven for 10 minutes or until meat is warm and cheese is melted.
This Sloppy Joe recipe can easily be made as a Freezer Meal recipe so I also included instructions for freezer meal preparation. Did you know that we have over 78 freezer meal recipes that you can make for your family? Plus we have full instructions to help you start your own freezer meal group.
