Money Saving Tips: Spend With Cash

Are you looking for some simple ideas to save money? We have simple solutions that you can easily apply to your lifestyle to save money!

Do you want to save money every time you go to the store?

Spend less by spending with cash only!

Each week, set aside the amount of cash your budget allows for the week in groceries and other expenses. Put the money in an envelop or in a special place in your wallet.

When the bills run out, that’s it.

Don’t spend any more.

Once you get in this habit, you’ll learn to just “make-do” with what you have instead of getting the urge to spend more.

It may sound very basic: don’t spend when your money runs out.  But, it’s actually really easy to go over budget when you spend on a credit or debit card.  There’s something about not physically seeing and touching the money as it’s being depleted that makes it so easy to spend on a card. With plastic, it’s also easier to lose track of how much you’re spending because “It’s just $2 here” or “It’s just $4 there”.  All of those little $2 and $4 purchases add up quickly, but if you’re spending in cash, it’s easier to see that those $2 and $4 purchases really count!

Start by trying the new cash spending trick for a week and see how much you can save!

We started Dave Ramsey last summer and all our bills are paid off. We are debt free and still using his program- if a good think works, stick with it.
Many times I had to say no to going out, doing this or that, but it does work. It is like a diet/health change. Only those who stick with it will see a difference.
