Money Saving Tips: Remember to Rotate Your Tires

Are you looking for some simple ideas to save money? We have simple solutions that you can easily apply to your lifestyle to save money!

A simple tire rotation can help prolong the lives of your tires.

Have you ever worn a pair of shoes and seen that they wear down on one side more than the other?  This is what happens with tires over time.  They wear down more in some places than others, but if you get them rotated before they lose too much tread in those places, they will wear evenly and your tires will last longer.

Experts recommend getting your tires rotated around every 5,000-8,000 miles.  A good rule of thumb is to rotate them every-other oil change.  Cars need oil changes about every 3,000 miles.  Keeping up on this maintenance will not only keep your tires in working shape for longer, but it’s better for your safety, and for your car’s overall performance.

Thanks for the reminder! We got new tires Thanksgiving 2010 and haven’t rotated them since. I think we’ve changed the oil 3 times since then so it surely is time to rotate. We drive about 7k miles a year.
