Money Saving Tips: Leprechaun Milk

Are you looking for some simple ideas to save money? We have simple solutions that you can easily apply to your lifestyle to save money!

Every St. Patrick’s Day, I used to wake up to green milk in the refrigerator.  My mom used to sneak into the kitchen after the kids went to bed and dye the milk this lovely leprechaun-like color.

I still do it to be fun and festive and all it costs is a few drops of food coloring.

You can still drink the milk as you did before it “magically” turned green.

 It tastes the same!

    My mom did this for my brother, sister, and I, and now I do this for my own children. We also dye all of our dinner food green that night. :o) We did this once and invited people over; one person wouldn’t eat it because the green color freaked her out. It tastes normal, but the color can sure do things to a person, I guess. :o)

    We do this as well and we have green pancakes and eggs for breakfast. My mom did that for us when we were kids and now I do it with mine.

    Instead of dying the whole gallon, I like to put a drop into the bottom of their glass without them seeing. Then as I pour it, it turns green…my kids think its magic!

  • I got cheap vanilla ice cream and then some mint chocolate chip icecream. I put the vanilla in a tupperware container and then put the mint chocolate chip in the vanilla ice cream container. When I went to serve the vanilla ice cream, we got a BIG reaction. ( ;
