Mint.com: FREE, Fast, Simple and Secure Budgeting System
Remember when I told you about my adventures at the smoke shop? Well since that funny situation, we’ve been continuing to use and LOVE Mint.com. In fact, we’ve been recommending it to our friends and family like crazy and they are all loving it too.
It’s so cheap (aka. FREE) and so easy even I can do it (and I am a non-budgeter at heart!). We log on to our electronic gadgets (Smart Phones, iPads, etc.) and are constantly up to date on our finances. We get updates if we’ve gone over budget in an area, if we’ve been charged a fee or have an unidentified expense come through any of our accounts (credit cards, checking accounts, etc.). Plus, we have access to our entire budget at our fingertips.
So while it seems wonderful, the one question we keep getting asked is IS IT SAFE? Believe me I was nervous giving all of my most personal information for all of my accounts to a company I had never heard of. So I did some extensive research before I signed up. Mint.com was created by software company Intuit. Intuit might not be familiar to you, but Turbo Tax, Quicken and QuickBooks probably are. Intuit created all of those very trusted programs. Mint also employs 128-bit encrypted, bank-level security.
Rest assured, it’s as safe as you can get!
