Melanie’s Wish List
Well, I have some big ticket items on the wish list this year. Sometimes those are the things that you would like to have, but you don’t want to buy! So, perfect as gifts, right? Ha. I definitely do not want or expect all of these things at once. But they are still some nice gift ideas!
Since I’ve decided to start a family tradition of having homemade pizza for our Christmas Eve dinner, it would be fun to get some fancy pizza-making tools. This Emile Henry Flame Top Pizza Stone is supposed to be easy to clean and nice for the oven and grill. I like the red or black. Not cheap though!
One day I will have this fancy, expensive blender. But I’ll probably have to wait until my current blender dies and I have an extra $400 lying around. 😉 Every once in a while they go on sale. If you have a Costco membership, they often have the best deal on them on Black Friday or during a special promo.
I think this Cook’s Illustrated cookbook would be nice to have. 300 fast and flavorful recipes from America’s most trusted test kitchen. Sounds good to me! A few others that I’m interested in: Pati’s Mexican Table: The Secrets of Real Mexican Home Cooking and The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays or Food from My Frontier.
I still make whole wheat bread regularly, so it would make sense to start grinding my own wheat flour. I haven’t decided which grain mill I would like most though. WonderMill? Blendtec? Any other recommendations? I want a high quality one that would do a good job and last a long time.
I think it is fun to have nice serve ware for special occasions or special foods. I may or may not have already purchased this cake pedestal for myself with an Amazon credit and gift card. 😉 I would like to get some white 6.5-inch plates for serving the cake eventually too.
Something that will automatically clean my floor each day? Yes, please. My little kids are big mess-makers. Yeah, I would still need to vacuum and mop every once in a while. But the robot would be awesome for the everyday clean I so desire. Super cool. Not totally sure if I would go with iRobot or Neato though.
I got a new grill this year and I would love to learn how to cook a variety of things on it. This grill pan would come in handy!
I don’t have much in the way of table linens yet. I would love to get some cool, trendy-but-classic, printed table runners and place mats. Reversible makes them even cooler because you get 2-in-1. There are some Etsy shops that sell fun ones.
Can you tell I enjoy cooking and entertaining!? Ha.
