Make Your Own Garlic Spread Seasoning
I love garlic bread. My whole family loves bread, garlic bread is one of my favorites though. When my husband and I were dating, he came over to my parent’s house for dinner one Sunday night. My mom was baking rolls and he asked how many she had prepared. He thought she said 15 and he was amazed that she made that many for 8 people. But really, she said 50! Ha. I love that story.
Anyway, I think garlic bread or bread sticks go well with nearly any dinner. If you’re in a pinch, you can just toast and butter some bread, then lightly sprinkle garlic salt on top. But this is an even better garlic seasoning that you can make in advance and store for up to 3 months. Plus, it is cheaper to make yourself than to buy a good pre-made garlic seasoning from the store, like the popular Johnny’s Garlic Spread & Seasoning.
The only ingredient I didn’t have was the marjoram. To start out, I just bought a little .15 oz bottle of it at my local grocery store for $1.79. It will be enough for a few batches and if you love the garlic seasoning, like I do, then you can look for a better deal later on a bulk amount. Check for McCormick coupons (especially in the Fall)!
