Kmart Doubles Shopping Trip, November 6, 2013

Kmart Shopping 11-5-13

Total Before Coupons:  $80.97
Total After Coupons:  $68.77, including $50 in Gift Cards
Still Have: (2) $5 Gift Cards, $4 in Points, $5 CRT, and $3 Catalina
Final Cost: $3.23 Money Maker

*Note you are allowed to use only 1 store catalina (Kmart Savings Coupon/CRT) per transaction. Any catalina that print on the register receipt paper is a Kmart Savings Coupon. If the catalina prints out of the catalina machine it can be either a store or manufacturer coupon and will say at the top. You can use more than one manufacturer’s catalinas as long as they have an item to attach to, similar to Walgreens.

It clearly said on my Cottonelle printable that it could not be doubled. Still a great deal though on TP! Thanks.

Kelli, the coupons automatically double on the register (when you meet double requirements) when they are scanned, no matter if they say DND or not. Kmart is offering the “doubling” as a promotion and the manufacturer is still reimbursing the coupon amount.

I’m bad at math 🙂 How is the gift card a money maker?
    Buy 1/$25.00
$5.00 back in a future GC = $20. (now like paying for original one)
    $2.00 in points – $20 (new cost of first GC) = $18.00

Tell me where I’m going wrong LOL! 🙂 Thanks!

    • Dawn

That is basically the same idea. I think of it as you spent $25 on a gift card but got $7 back (in another gift card and points), so you have $32 to spend when you only paid $25. Either way you are $7 ahead or a $7 money maker!

Thanks for the info! They gave me a fit over my printables to begin with, even the manager had to type in the coupon. She refused to double the Cottonelle. Sigh. It was a big headache.

    • Dawn

Sometimes the coupons do that and I don’t know why (won’t scan). It should have doubled automatically though, was your total over $25 before coupons?

Thanks for posting this! I love that you share your transactions and breakdowns. I am going to try this exact shopping trip today and hope everything goes well at my Kmart!
