12 Week Fitness Challenge! {Starts January 9th}

That’s me on the left. 6 weeks AFTER having my 8th baby. I was 188 pounds. That’s me again, on the right… exactly one year later. I’m 128 pounds in that picture. That’s me wearing a size small shirt and size 3 jeans. That wasn’t even my goal weight… But that’s where I’ve been for more than a year now!

So if you’re reading this blog post, I want to ask you a few questions.

What do you NEED right now? Are you feeling out of balance? Is your weight affecting other areas of your life? How long has this been an issue for you? Have you tried losing weight in the past only to have it come right back on? Are you in pain?

In September of 2014 (me on the left), I was in a lot of pain… emotionally AND physically. I was always tired. I always woke with a headache. I looked like I was 5 months pregnant still and didn’t have any hope for getting out of maternity pants any time soon. I was in a food coma, but didn’t even know it! I had tried plenty of weight loss plans in the past, only to put the weight back on within 6 months.

  • How do I sign up? I am very interested in the 21 day challenge.. I would love to insight on what foods to eat. I am very picky so any help with food choices would be awesome. Thank you

  • What kind of changes will I see after the 21 days?

    • Hi Connie… that depends on you! If you are consist and honest with yourself and give it your all, I believe you will feel better, be off your sugar addiction (because we all have it), and be motivated to continue on a path of health and feeling better! But if you go in to it half hardheartedly and don’t give it your all, then you won’t see noticeable changes. That’s my guess anyway. 🙂 This challenge is only 21 days. You can do anything for 21 days, right? 🙂

  • I am interested but do not see real details on how it works or what foods are allowed, etc. Is there someplace with a more elaborate explanation?

    Can a team be a family?

  • What is an example of a terrafit workout?

  • I did a 21 day Challenge kind of like this and I lost so much weight in that amount of time that everybody commented when I saw them for the first time. I was so surprised because I only needed to lose about 20 lbs so I didn’t think it would be super noticable. You know the “Im not that big” mentality. I had way more energy and continue to exercise 3-4 days a week solely because I feel better! A challenge like this can make all the difference! Go for it! The quick results will keep you motivated to continue after the time has passed.

  • Do you have a link where I can purchase the meal replacement shakes?

  • I am interested in this challenge and I have been exploring the links you have posted in other comments. It appears that there are oils, supplements and shakes to purchase, but I can’t find listing of prices anywhere. Can you please explain what the additional costs will be? Thanks!

  • I’m noticing most people started this almost a month ago. Will I be too far behind if I want to still join? Also, I don’t have family or friends doing this with me, can I join an existing team?

    • Hey Katie, we did a group for the last 21 day Challenge. This next one is a new 12 week challenge starting March 7th, so you are not late to the game. Yes, we can make you a team. 🙂

  • Is it $25 for the whole program? Or is there a weekly fee? Interested, but can’t afford anything extra. Thanks!

    • Yes. $25 is for all 3 months. The product packages are highly recommended because they will help you earn bonus points and help you detox, reduce sugar cravings, relieve pain and keep calories down. Plus you get extra support. Do what you can afford and remember an investment in your long term health is an investment worth paying for!

  • I was almost ready to sign up, but I saw a video of the sample workouts and I just can’t do that. I’m obese, and even though my mind is willing my body is not able. Im having to do what I can to get to the point I can do those kind of workouts.

    • Hi Ashlee! Becky here! I’m obese too.. I’m working on dropping 200 lbs! In the last 20 days I’ve lost 33 pounds. I just weighed my two and a half year old, and he weighs 33.8 lbs. I’ve lost a small child!! In 20 DAYS!!
      And you’re right! I absolutely could NOT do the workouts. BUT all the instructors are AMAZING. They walk you through modifications to show you how to do it at your ability. They are super supportive, and really just encourage you to do what you can! I, Becky, did YOGA!! I didn’t do it great, and I wasn’t graceful, but I did it!
      As you progress through the weeks, you’ll have moments like I did… that “Hey! I can do more this time than I could last time” moments. They are SO great!!
      And when you are out of breath and feel like you are dying… just remember, that’s what it’s supposed to feel like. And if you need to press pause, feel free! I think I only made it through one the first two weeks without pausing! But I did them. By the third week, I wasn’t hitting pause! My body is changing, my health is changing, and I am changing! And I’ll never go back! And you can do this too!!

  • I’m breastfeeding would this challenge be safe for me to do?

  • For the challenge can there be a team of just two people?

  • Can yoy give an idea of the additional cost that’s involved?

  • My husband and I both signed up, is there anyway we can be on the same team?

  • I registered yesterday! I only received one email from terra fit, should I have received another one from you? I’m nervous I did something wrong lol. Also is there a link to purchase the shake mix & supplements?

  • finally sat down to read this and am so interested BUT need to know the time commitment …and I am a day late. What can I do?

  • I am very interested in this challenge, but I am nervous about the exercise portion. What equipment are we expected to have for this?

    • Hi Mindy! It’s optional! Some resistance bands are frugal and there are so many ways to use them. But basically, you need to do 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week… it does need to be more than a “walk”… you want to get your heart rate up! And resistance training is WONDERFUL to add to your routine… the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn while you sleep!   • I just signed up through the link posted above. However, the email I got about my registration was from TerraFit, not you ladies. Just wanted to make sure I did it right… I have never joined any group or program. I need some extra motivation this go-around. I lost all the weight after baby #5, but before baby #6 I miscarried at 9 weeks, then 18 weeks, then successfully had a baby; but I started that pregnancy 20 lbs overweight. Yikes! Now I need to lose at least 30 lbs but I have fallen into all my old bad habits as far as sugar, eating late, and craving carbs! Thanks for inspiring me to get myself back to ME!

  • Are there other supplements you take along with this program?

    • It’s totally optional Heather. We do have products available to help support you in your goals, but they are not required. Although, we do offer some packages with some awesome bonuses to help you with your success!

  • Cathy, where on earth did you get your after picture dress? Gorgeous AND modest (even for a tall girl like me). Do share!

  • I really want to do this but can’t start April 4th – we will be going on a week long spring break trip and I don’t think I will stick to the plan. Will you be doing another one after this one is over?

    • Karen – You are all signed up and good to go. I am glad you contacted me becasue I had your name check off on my list as a person that got the email I sent yesterday, but when I searched my sent box you were not there. So I am going to send it to you right away!

  • Woot, woot! Just joined up. I am scared as I have been out of shape for so long. I have a 7 month old and really want to get rid of these extra pounds since pregnancy. Looking forward to getting fit, although, I’m not sure I’ll be able to get 5 – 30 minute workouts in a week!!!! That will be a huge change from where I am. But I will make it my new goal! 🙂

  • I came to sign up and the post now says May 2nd. I would like to join in on the challenge that starts Monday! I know the deadline is tonight, is it still possible?

      We closed registration and moved everyone to the May 2nd challenge. If you fill out the form we will be sure to get you in on that one. Then you can use the next 2 weeks to prep for the challenge and really be ready to go.

  • I am interested for my husband and I . is this a gradual decrease of sugar or is day 1 no sugar? Please let me know for the May 2nd deadline.

  • May 2 will be about two weeks out from minor surgery for me. Is it worthwhile to join if I can’t exercise much during the challenge? Would it hurt my team or can I just go solo?

    • Sorry put the wrong email. Fixed now.

    • You can do modified versions of the exercise. Each video has modification.

      • Misty – I’m betting you can do it! I KNOW exercise and eating healthy will help you recover from your surgery faster. They walk you through how to modify each and every exercise, and teach you how to listen to your body. Sometimes I can’t do a specific exercise, (I have at least 2 surgeries on my horizon) but I can always modify.
        Also, It’s a really flexible workout program. So, if it’s a particularly painful day with my hernia, I know a core workout isn’t going to be good for me, so I can swap my workouts around, and do a leg day or yoga, or back and shoulders.
        I personally LOVE how easy they make the modifications, and how they make me feel about doing the exercises to the best of my ability. It’s not about pushing yourself to injury… it’s about doing the best you can within your circumstances!
        There are also some products we’d love to recommend to help with your recovery from surgery!

  • How much does everything cost? I see there are meal replacements; vitamins, oils etc….

      You can choose from the packages we have I the form. Between $25-300. Just depends on what you want to do. We can also customize something to meet your needs.

  • If you work nights… The NO eating after 8pm… Is there a modification for that?

  • Are you restricted the a certain country?

  • I would like to start detox and diet

  • With a family, how do you modify your eating yet still cook regular meals for them? Did you just cook one for yourself and something different for the family?

  • I am intersted in the challenge based on what I read but what does it cost to participate? Is this something that will force someone to eat wheat or grains? I am a celiac.
