Idaho Statesman Coupon Subscription Rate Reduction PLUS National Newspaper Deals!

They heard us loud and clear when we were frustrated with the big price increase for a multiple copy newspaper subscription at the Idaho Statesman. And we have some great news to report:

The Idaho Statesman has drastically LOWERED their prices!

For the mere price of $3 per week, you will receive the daily paper, PLUS 3 EXTRA Sunday papers.

You’ll get FOUR SUNDAY PAPERS for only $3 per week!

This comes to $.75 per Sunday paper, and we’re not even factoring in the price of the daily paper!  You won’t find a Sunday paper ANYWHERE in town for that price!!

So here is the nitty gritty. In order to take advantage of this FAB DEAL, you have to mention Fabulessly Frugal and you have to prepay. You can get 52 weeks (yes, that’s a whole YEAR of 4 Sunday papers delivered to your door!) for the up front cost of $156.

Is this a PINK STAR DEAL that you want to LOCK IN as long as possible?!?!  YOU BET!  You will EASILY save that much money during your first month of serious couponing!

Not ready to lock in a year? You can prepay for 26 weeks and only spend $78.00 OR only prepay for 13 weeks and spend $39.

Add additional papers to your subscription for .50 each!

7+3 deal $3.00/week   ($39.00 for 13 weeks, $78.00 for 26 weeks, $156.00  for 1 year!)
7+4 deal $3.50/week   ($45.50  for 13 weeks, $91.00  for 26 weeks, $182.00  for 1 year!)
7+5 deal $4.00/week   ($52.00  for 13 weeks, $104.00 for 26 weeks, $208.00 for 1 year!)

Are you ready to create a stockpile of foods that cost you pennies on the dollar?

Get yourself more than one Sunday paper! A multiple copy subscription is crucial if you want to buy multiple items at rock bottom prices. If you only have one coupon, you’ll only be able to purchase one item! And that ain’t no stockpile!

What if I JUST locked in to a year’s subscription 3 weeks ago??? 🙁

  • Marianne

SO is this new subscribers only?

    • Kathy

      I have the same question…
Anybody know if this is new subscriptions only? (Like the previous ‘deal’)

    • Nope! Existing subscribers can get the deal! If you are an existing subscriber and don’t get multiple Sunday papers yet, you can add them to your subscription for $.50 per Sunday paper (min 4) per week. If you are already getting the Sunday paper deal, when your term ends, you can renew and get this deal!

I called today trying to get a new subscription and was hung up on three times. Each time was after saying I wanted to set up a new subscription.

    • Marianne

Customer service there is a NIGHTMARE! Every time I call I dread what will go wrong.

      • Marianne – let us know if you have an issue when you call. Keep in mind this is new for them too so they are trying to get all of their people trained. If you still have issues though, shoot us an email and we’ll help you talk to someone who can help you out.

    • So sad Sheila! Send an email and I’ll see if I can get you a better person to talk to over there.

Each year when my subscription ends, I just buy a new subscription in my husband’s name, or my name and my cell phone. I just flip back and forth from year to year. I use the Satatesman reps in the store, only because they take cash and I don’t have the hassle of the phone ladies. Too bad the FabFrugals can’t take our orders instead of the Statesman ladies. They are like the older checker ladies versus the dudes at the grocery stores.

any luck with strking a deal for the Portland – Oregonian?

  • Jessica

I just moved to Deer Park, WA (Spokane area) from Tacoma and need to get back in to couponing. The only paper I have seen is The Spokesman-Review and it does not seem to have much for coupons compared to The Tacoma News Tribune that I was used to. Does anyone know of other newspapers in the area that I might be able to get? If The Spokesman is the only option, does anyone know of any deals for it?

  • Hey I just wanted to share some info about the Statesmen. I get the 7+4 deal and in the past few months have started delivering papers. I wanted to share some tips that will make your delivery person very happy. First if you are not going to use the bags your paper comes in sometimes save them and when you get a bunch leave them on your porch for your carrier. We have to pay for the bags and rubber bands. So every little helps and allows us to make more money. Also if you have a minor complaint maybe just leave a note on your porch. Every time you call and complain our pay gets docked. And tips no matter what amount are very appreciated. Even if it is only a buck or 2 a week or 5 to 10 a month it is very appreciated. We are all sub-contractors and the higher the gas prices are the less we take home.

I guess I’m just wondering how useful a subscription even is? It seems like 80% (or more) of the deals posted use printable coupons and, when newspaper coupons are mentioned, I often see the dreaded “(not in Idaho)” tag on a lot of the good ones. Can anyone tell me how worthwhile a subscription is vs. printable coupons.

    • Monica

If you are in Idaho a newspaper deal is worth it just for the double coupons! But believe me you will use enough insert coupons to make your subscription worthwhile.

  • linda

Just talked to the rudest person on the new subscription phone number. Called back and got her again. She was snippy and talked over me
without listening to me. Hung up both times. She asked if I was satisfied with her “service”. I told her, “Let’s just say it didn’t work for me today”. I will look for a deal somewhere else or go over to the business office and try to work with them.

  • Julie

I just signed up. The person, a woman whose name I think is Max, assisted me. When I told her what I wanted, at first, she gave me a regular subscription. I told her no, that I wanted the special discounted price with the three extra Sunday papers per the website deal.

She had to place me on hold, but when she came back, she had approval for the newspaper deal here.

It looks like it’s a go, and if there is a glitch, I’ll let you know.

I am finding this WHOLE Statesman subscriber thing OUTRAGEOUS!!!! After talking to MANY subscribers I have learned to cancel your subscription then get in on one of their “new subscriber rate” programs. I am BEYOND furious when I learned this as I just got my bill for $606.32 for a one year subscription after continually taking the paper for 18+ years!!!! They are paying as low as $110.00 for a year!! I call this fleecing of long time customers and this is BEYOND OUTRAGEOUS!! A LETTER TO THE EDITOR IS IN ORDER. . .as if they would ever print it!!
