Another oldie but goodie from growing up. I learned to love this dish over time, but now it is often a go to when looking for something comforting and satisfying! A warm oniony beef sauce over noodles, this is sure to be a dish the whole family will love.
Serves 4-6 for about $1.00/serving
1 lb. ground beef – ($2.68)
1 medium onion, diced – ($0.33)
1/4 cup butter – ($0.25)
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 can cream of mushroom soup – ($0.68)
1 cup sour cream – ($0.75)
2 cups hot cooked egg noodles – ($1.28)
In large skillet, cook and stir ground beef and onion in butter until soft. Drain if needed.
Stir in flour and seasonings.
Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in soup; simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
Stir in sour cream; heat through.
Serve over noodles (We just mix our meat sauce with the noodles). Sprinkle with parsley.
