{Giveaway} Lifestyles Of The FABuLESSLY FruGAL…

One lucky FAB reader will win 30 rolls of Charmin toilet paper!  I know… I know… It’s just what you’ve always wanted.  FREE TOILET PAPER!

Why am I giving away toilet paper?  Well, last Christmas when I was asked what I would like for Christmas (by several relatives) I couldn’t think of anything.  Nor did I really need anything.  So when they asked…The FruGAL inside of me told them toilet paper.  And guess what?  Santa delivered!  I received tons and tons of toilet paper.  So much in fact that between all the gifted Christmas toilet paper and all the FREE toilet paper I was able to pick up last February at Rite Aid, our family has not had to buy ANY toilet paper this year. 🙂

So why a I giving it away? Long story short… Last week when the septic maintenance guy came to check the tanks… Well… umm… Let’s just say we are not suppose to be using Charmin toilet paper.  End.Of.Story. 🙂

To enter this Super FAB giveaway all you need to do is answer the following question:

Who is the most famous person you have ever met?

1 lucky FAB reader will be chosen at random on Monday August 15th!

Yahoo! So excited about FREE toilet paper!!!
About 10 years ago I was a college student working at a small seafood restaurant. I was anxious to clean up the restaurant and close up for the night when in walked a whole group of people and one of them was KID ROCK! I honestly wasn’t a fan and didn’t even recognize him and was frustrated that I couldn’t go home and instead had to serve a whole group of people….but then my manager started freaking out that I was getting to serve KID ROCK dinner! At least he left a good tip 🙂 And that’s my claim to faim!

In a two year timeframe, I met Trace Adkins, Little Bigtown, then I won a trip to San Diego and picked up backstage passes by helping the local contact out when she was sick to meet Carrie Underwood and finally won a trip to Las Vegas and got pit seats at the Academy of Country Music Awards! In the mid nineties I was working for the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in Portland Oregon You may recall the flooding that happened. The museum is situated on the bank of the Willamette River. The museum was saved from total destruction, but it was damaged.

President Clinton, the First Lady, Vice President Gore and Mrs Gore included the museum as one of their stops while in Portland before the museum was re-opened to the public. I was on the switchboard, so I missed the chance to meet the president.. BUT.. the I met Mrs Gore, shook the Vice Presidents hand, and was able to meet and speak with Mrs Clinton!

Part of the excitement was having the secret service comb my office, and bring in the bomb sniffing dogs! There was a very nice agent assigned to my area and we have a wonderful conversation.

I will never forget the strength in Al Gores’ handshake, or the smell of Mrs Clintons’ perfume. I don’t care for Mrs. Gore, her stance on censorship in music has always rubbed me the wrong way.

While working for OMSI I also met Jean Auel (author of Clan of The Cave Bear) and Kenny G. I once made an espresso (I worked in the cafe before I was receptionist) for Clyde Drexler (basketball player). I also worked along side an astronaut.. Ed Gibson was president of the museum while I worked there. I have an autographed photograph and an inscribed copy of his book.

It was a wonderful place to work!

My husband surprised me with a trip to NYC for my 30th birthday on Nov, 11th. The morning we arrived in NYC, Nov 10th, we walked around Times Square and passed right in front of Good Morning America. As we were walking by I told my husband, “OMG we are outside GMA”. Then I heard a familiar voice coming from the speakers outside. It was my absolute FAVORITE actor, Denzel Washington promoting his latest movie. We watched him do his interview from outside the window and when it was over I ran to the side where he was to walk out and get into his awaiting black SUV. I squeezed my way under a bunch of people and he walked right past my face. I threw out my pen and paper and asked him if he could sign it to me and that it was my 30th birthday the next day, he did. I was totally speechless. By far one of my favorite days EVER and an amazing birthday gift…

Once he “caught” me from falling over my own dang feet in the hallway, and he also tried to convince me to go out with a classmate… I almost said yes, even though I had no interest in the guy, just because I didn’t want to say no to Troy. We weren’t friends or anything (his senior year was my freshman year), but he was seriously the nicest guy. I don’t really watch football, but I love his Head and Shoulders commercials- LOL.

Lastly, while at the backside of Disneyland years ago, this large gate opened and a mass of people walked through and in the middle of the group was Michael Jackson with Emmanuel Lewis and they walked by me and smiled. • Kelsey Little

Well some of you may know of the tv show Billy the Exterminator. Billy, along with his whole entire family featured on the show, lives in the small town in Louisiana that I live in. It was at a Starbucks in Malibu, and he was nice enough to take a picture with me. I don’t even remember what we said, but fortunately I had a good friend there to fill in for me mentally and take the photo. Good times!
P.S. His dog almost peed on me.

Never actually met anyone famous, but I saw Nicholas Cage at Disneyland once. That is probably the closest I will ever get, since we really don’t travel much, and good ol’ Eugene, OR isn’t exactly the place to be for the elite ; )

  • Alice

My son and I met Edward James Olmos at a convention a couple of years ago. He was walking around the hotel with his family and wouldn’t let anyone take his picture, but he saw my son was dressed up as the Joker from Batman and so he stopped to pose with him. Made our day!

I met Kenny Kramer. Who is Kenny Kramer you ask? He was the inspiration for the Cosmo Kramer character on Seinfeld. The creator of the show, Larry David, and Kenny Kramer lived in the same building in NYC. During the show’s popular run, Kenny started the “Kenny Kramer Seinfeld Reality Tour” in New York City. I was able to meet Kenny during our tour. At the end of the tour he took the entire group back to his building for pizza. He’s a hilarious, down-to-earth comedian. http://www.kennykramer.com/ If you are a fan of the show “Seinfeld” you’ve got to go on this tour.

I was one of only three civilians allowed on the tarmac (internship!), and we literally stood there, still as statues, while his plane landed (watching AF2 fly within a few hundred feet over your head is definitely interesting, to say in the least). He waved to us, then got in his roughly 15 car long convoy, and went about his duties in Cleveland!

  • MindyH

I was lucky enough to spend a mini-semester in LA during college with the head of our theatre department. He had spent a few years living there, so we were able to get on set to quite a few different shows filming in the mid-90’s. We met the cast of Buffy the Vampire slayer, Dr. Quinn Medicine Women and were in the audience for both the Jay Leno Show and the Price is Right. It still makes me smile every time I look at the pictures of us small-town midwestern kids with all these famous people!

Phil tops it all though.
