Frugal Christmas Craft Idea {Five Little Snowmen Ornament}

 Personalized Christmas Ornament with Your Child’s Hand Print!

Here’s another super easy & quick craft that turns out really cute. My friend made these personalized Christmas ornaments with her students when she was a teacher. It was a fun gift for the kids to give to their parents. You can use it as a keepsake ornament for your tree or give it to someone!

Supplies:

  • cute little hand
  • white acrylic paint
  • Sharpie Markers: black & assorted colors
  • round ornament (find these at a lot of stores, including Walmart & dollar stores)
  • paper for gift tag (optional)

Brush the white paint onto the cute little hand and place the ornament in the palm of the hand. Then, slowly wrap the fingers up and onto the ornament. Now you should have a nice little hand print on there. Feel free to fill in some of the lighter spots with paint.

Once the white paint has dried, start adding the snowman details & accessories with the Sharpies. I added arms, eyes, mouth, buttons, carrot nose, scarf, and hat. You can also do this with acrylic paint and a small paintbrush, if you so desire. If you use paint, the colors will probably be more saturated and solid, but using Sharpies is sure easy!

Include a gift tag with the poem, if you want to, and you can write the child’s name and the year on the ornament too!

Optional Poem & Gift Tag for the Ornament:
These aren’t just five snowmen,
As anyone can see.
I made them with my hand,
Which is a part of me.
Now each year when you trim the tree
You can look back and recall
Christmas of 2011
When my hand was just this small!
Love, {Child’s Name Here}
