My daughter works at VitaCost so she is always bringing us something to sample, either their vitamins or their specialty foods. It is wonderful that we get a heads up on some of their new products. But mostly I love the fact that we have not had to buy our daily multi-vitamins in over 2 years! 100% free is always great.

I ordered some virgin coconut oil 3 weeks ago and paid $.20/oz for a big jug of it! Prior to that I paid about $.75/oz buying it in the grocery store.

It was my 1st order with them and everything went great~

I ordered the coconut oil too because I have heard people rave about it’s health benefits. How do you use yours?

I looooove the virgin coconut oil….has to be virgin tho. The “refined” coconut oil doesn’t have the yummy smell or same taste IMHO.

I bake with it any chance I can. I made brownies with it (melted down of course) and the brownies were the most heavenly!!!!!! I make bread all the time too and use it in the recipe. I have yet to try cookies…but I would do an 1:1 swap w/ butter. The outcomes don’t taste “coconutty” at all….they just have a slight coconut smell to them and who doesn’t LOVE that!!!!!

My friend says she melts it down & puts on popcorn and uses it instead of olive oil for salad dressing. Also, I hear it’s great for frying…

To melt it, I just toss some in a glass measuring cup and set on the stove top on the lowest setting. It melts very fast. Then put back whatever you don’t use back into the jar.

        Enjoy!
