Fab FruGAL’s Weekend Results

I just had to share this from our inbox:

Here’s a few details from my shopping trips this weekend I thought I’d share! ๐Ÿ™‚

34 boxes of cereal (looking forward to giving some of it away!)
10 cans of 100% juice (on rain check so I got the old price!)
6 bananas
4 Stash Teas (on clearance!)
1 Pizza
1 tub of butter
1 bag of bendy straws
Value of groceries (if I paid full price): $216.01
Total Cash Spent: $7.46
Total Saved: $208.55 (avg. 96.5% off!!)
with $11 credit for my next shopping trip! And that was only 2 trips to the store, and 6 transactions. I’m getting this down! ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s addicting only paying 5% for your groceries! But that just frees up that much more money to get things that we need like meats, fruits & veggies.
Thanks ladies for all your help in setting me up for success!

Amazing, now I just have to figure out how to do this! This couponing gets confusing!

  • Awesome Job Tara… coupons rock! Once you start there is no going back!

Actually Aubrey, this was one of the easiest sales I’ve done since I got “serious” about couponing. I had very little prep involved sine I bought the coupons on e-bay since I knew I’d want a lot of cereal and the other ones were all ideas/scenarios from a few blogs with coupons I already had. I couldn’t do this without the help of blogs that tell me ways to use the coupons. You can do it!!

I, too spent only 5% on the groceries I bought last week with my coupon deals! Ladies, it really pays to be fabuLESSly frugal!

As impressive a your purchases are, I get frustrated when people buy 34 boxes of cereal and the shelves are cleared when we get there. I don’t promote that.

        Lisa –

We don’t promote shelf clearing either. But keep in mind that the stores were massively stocked for this sale. We’re talking hundreds and hundreds of cases of cereal. 34 boxes of cereal was minuscule compared to what they had in stock. And therefore an appropriate amount of cereal to buy.
