Letter Writing Worksheets

One of my goals this year is to have some learning time every day with my kids.  Yesterday I started teaching my son to write letters.  I looked on the internet for worksheets and found some great ones.  They are free for non-profit use.  Each letter has a few different options to choose from as far as the object that will appear on the worksheet, so you can choose something that will interest your child.

I recently went on a similar search for my preschooler. My MIL (a kindergarten teacher) recommended starfall.com. It is a reading based website that also has printable writing activities. I LOVE this website because unlike some of the others, they actually show the correct way to make all the letters (some of the others aren’t as good about this). I’ve printed off the whole alphabet of activities and it’s become a regular activity for us and my son loves it.

Just a heads up you should check with the school that your child will be going to. Because there are different forms of writting the letters. some school districts have certain ones they use. So if you teach them one way and the school distric uses another they will force them to change. This can then be really confusing. We had this happen in the meridan school district about 4 years ago. They even made the other kids learn the letters differently and forced them to write them the new way.
But thanks so much for putting these out. I was just searching for some today but in cursive.

Ditto! We learned that from experience, too. My kids went to 2 different schools with 2 different styles. Pays to check first.
