Get paid to recycle your phone, tablet, or MP3 player!
I didn’t know these cool ecoATM kiosks existed until just recently. I found one in a shopping mall near where I live and the technology is really pretty amazing!
Here’s the deal: ecoATM is a nationwide network of automated electronic recycling kiosks located in shopping malls and select Walmart stores. Find the nearest ecoATM location. Recycle mobile phones, tablets, and MP3 players. Get cash for your device while you’re at it! Possible payment ranges from $1 to $300 per device, with charity donation as an option too. If you could use some extra cash (who couldn’t?!) and you don’t need the device anymore, it is worth a shot!
The kiosk is able to scan your device, identify it, and evaluate it! Very cool. You receive an offer for your device based on the model, condition, and current secondary market value. I was also impressed with the steps in place to prevent theft and fraud. It is legit!
Nearly 9 in 10 American device owners have an outdated and unused item at home. Clear the clutter. But don’t toss your old devices in the trash! ecoATM is able to find a second life for 75% of devices collected, the rest are responsibly recycled and reused.
Almost all consumer electronics contain toxic materials such as lead, mercury, arsenic and more materials that pose a threat to the environment and our health. The best thing we can do is to extend the life of existing devices as long as possible so that there is no need to build new devices to take their place. The next best thing we can do is to responsibly recycle and reclaim materials from the devices.
The aim of ecoATM is to dramatically increase e-waste recycling by giving you a convenient way to recycle, while putting a little cash back into your pockets. ecoATM has already recycled more than 500,000 pounds of devices in its four-year history!
So now you know, there is an easy, responsible way to recycle your mobile electronic devices! You should definitely check it out. It is easy to find the nearest ecoATM location! Just enter your zip and it will tell you where to find one.
