Don’t Forget: It’s Mega Swag Bucks Day

Today (and every Friday) is Mega Swag Bucks day!

I’ve had LOTS of my friends ask me if Swag Bucks really pays off… here is what my husband and I have purchased (using Amazon Gift Cards, FREE through Swag Bucks) since March… you tell me!

Kindle Fire $199.99-FREE with Swag Bucks

Kindle Fire Case $11.19-FREE with Swag Bucks (I have a similar case in purple too, also FREE!)

New Balance Men’s Shoe $64.95-FREE with Swag Bucks

AmazonBasics 12-Sheet Cross-Cut Paper/CD/Credit Card Shredder with Basket $49.99-FREE with Swag Bucks

MSBD (Mega Swag Bucks Day)

What does that mean to you?  It means when you search, instead of getting small amounts of Swag Bucks (7, 9, 12) you have a MUCH higher chance of getting large amounts (20,  50, 100, 500)!  Now, it won’t happen for everyone  but the more you search the higher your chances of winning the big ones are!

Can you provide any more information on the recent changes Swagbucks has made with regards to Amazon gift card purchases?

We used to be able to purchase 2 $5 gift cards per day, up to 5 per month. I bought one several weeks ago, and since then the option has not been available for me to buy another. I know they made some changes, but I don’t know the specifics. I hope they’re not limited it to one a month — that would mean a limit of only $60 a year.

I’m glad that you were able to get several hundred dollars worth of product in just two months via swagbucks, but it’s not possible for most people, considering they don’t have blogs or whatnot and therefore are not able to earn thousands of swagbucks via referrals.

    • I don’t get ANY Swag bucks for posting about Swag Bucks. Those “referral” bucks go to the blog, and we are going to use them to buy cool giveaways for our readers!

This is what we have purchased in the last two months… it took a lot longer than that to save them up the Swag Bucks to buy them. Plus, this is 2 Swag Bucks accounts… Mine and my husbands. We have both been saving our SB for a few months now, and were both able to buy $100 Amazon GCs after about 4 months of saving points (that was after we bought the $5 ones).

I didn’t have any problems purchasing all 5 of my $5 GC this month, but I did it in the first three days, was your problem after that? I can/will answer this question next Friday, okay?

ok…still kinda new to this whole Swag Bucks thing but I finally have enough to actually buy some Amazon Gift Cards! Sounds like there are some “rules” that I wasn’t aware of?! Do they actually send you a gift card or is it an e-card? Any tips or suggestions on the best way to purchase?!
    Thanks for all your help!

    • It’s a $5 E-Card… it takes 10-14 days to get it, (it shows up in your Swag Bucks account under gift cards and they shoot you an email).
You can (at last check) buy (5) $5 cards (or any card for that matter, it’s a limit of 5 of the same card) each month. The month resets on the 1st, regardless of when you last purchased them. You can only buy 2 like cards per day.
Say you have the 2250 SB it takes to get the 5 Amazon Cards worth $5 each… you can buy 2 today, 2 Saturday, and 1 Sunday, then if you have enough SB, you can buy 2 more on Tuesday (the 1st).
      Does that make sense?

  • Krystal

Makes total sense! Thank you! So do you recommend buying and then saving your gift cards? Or do they expire?

  • They never expire! So I buy them, put them in my Amazon account (so I know where they are… just in case the Swag Bucks server blows up or something), and then I can choose to use them or not when I’m checking out 🙂

  • Krystal

Awesome! Very good to know! Thank you so much for everything you do! I have learned and SAVED so much from you FabGals! 🙂

  • Susan

Becky, thank you for the explanation. I misunderstood and thought that you had earned enough sb’s in the past two months to purchase these items. I was not trying to be obnoxious, honest.

I sincerely appreciate any additional information you may be able to provide about the Amazon gift cards. Like I said, I purchased one $5 GC earlier this month, and ever since, the same item has not been available for me to purchase at all. There was a comment in the chat a little while back that the rules were changing, and now I’m wondering what those changes were.

Also, in addition to e-gift cards, you can purchase regular gift cards that will be mailed to you.

    • No big deal at all Susan! I assumed it was just a misunderstanding 🙂 When I went to try to order another $5 GC, I got this message: We thought you should know…There is a limit of 5 orders per prize each calendar month. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Which is the same one I’ve always gotten. Are you going here to try to order more? http://www.swagbucks.com/p/prize/2988/5-Amazon-com-Gift-Card Did you verify the order of the 1st one?

      • Jena Green

I didn’t know there were a limit… that is annoying!
Other sites don’t have that! Not sure about Superpoints, but GIftHulk for sure is limitless!

  • Kristyn

What is the best way to earn these? I have just started and don’t quite understand how i would ever get enough point for one $5 gc let alone 5! Thanks for the tips in advance! 🙂

  • Kristyn-I walk you through earning $300 a year (or $400 if you want) in this post 🙂
