5 Minute Hot Packs
I carry a lot of my stress in my shoulders, and when they get tight, I often get a kink in my neck, or a sore spot in my back, and a heating pad is very useful at these times. Â Alas, ours is packed away, deep in the depths of our garage. Â In the meantime, until we can get to it, I made these handy little guys, which would be great on the go (actually used one today when out driving in the car, as my neck was pretty tight), or for those hard to get places.
All you need to do is fill a sock about half way full of white rice.  Tie the end in a knot or sew across the end and you’re good to go.  To use: Heat in the microwave for 20-60 seconds, depending on who is going to be using it.  My daughter has been getting growing pains in her legs at night, and we heat one up for about 30-40 seconds, and put her to bed with it.  Works really well to soothe her pain, and help her fall asleep.
