Target Announced They Are Closing on Thanksgiving 2020!
Target has announced that they will be closing their doors on Thanksgiving Day 2020, joining Walmart in this plan. The last time Target was closed on Thanksgiving was 2011. As COVID-19 cases are on the rise around the US, retailers are thinking strategically about their holiday plans, with concerns over having crowds in stores.
This leads to major speculation about WHAT Black Friday will look like this year. We are betting lots more offers will be moving online in order to avoid lots of people in lines and in stores vying for the hot doorbuster deals. We also predict other major retailers will follow suit — closing their stores on Thanksgiving Day to give their essential workers a much needed break and to avoid exposing shoppers to crowded stores.
The retailer has announced it also will expand its same-day pickup and delivery, making 20,000 more products available for Drive Up, order pickup and Shipt delivery.
